When I first read the orignal post i took it basically at face value. Then I read AB's resopnse and marveled at his quick wit, But now, six pages later you all are freaking me out. Stop it! You're freaking me out.
Per WildArkieBoy: "This one is soooooooo easy!!!!!!!! KISS=Knights in Satan's Service. Satan=Les Alexander Knight=The One and Only Bobby BOBBY KNIGHT TO BE INTRODUCED AS THE NEW COACH OF THE ROX!!!!!!!" Pure Genius!!
If Popeye writes you a note telling you you could win a truck, then we're getting Artest. Otherwise, you could win a truck. oeilpere!
A drug addict would love to get his hands on that truck. That's one giant pile of crack! I need a CCnet intervention
Last post from pops was 2 1/2 years ago from a hospital bed. I wonder if he's gone to that great Toyota Center in the sky.
well since there was mention to a artest to la in another thread i decided to re-visit this. one i dont think its literall, Doc visits this board enough that had it been literal and he seen the pages this thread has accumulated he would have said something that it was literal. His silence proves to me that there is more into this thread than its literal sense. RATT/DOKKEN/KISS i played anagrams with that and i got this Artest Kniks Ok'd which means we may be a third party in this trade getting probably one of the knicks bloated contracts in return (i pray its not marbury) and something from indiana. I just dont know what exactly we may give up. probaby wesley and norris and a pick for cap relief for the other two teams.
Here's a thought. Our offer to Indy was a 5 player deal. They get to pick 5 players from us excluding our big 2. This could be expirings such as Dwes, Moochie, DA, Deke, to go along with Luther in exchange for Ron Ron and Croshere. The legit-legit giveaway combined with the "legal jargon" reference could be what this next part is in reference to. As part of the trade, we agree to release Croshere and eat his salary next year in order for him to sign back with Indy for league minimum. Indy releases whichever expirings that they don't want or have roster spots for or what players they have previously agreed with the Rockets to release such as Deke and Dwes who would be re-signed with the Rox. Indy obviously would want to keep Luther out of the deal. And they would probably want to keep DA on their bench. Moochie obviously would have no place with them. That covers the "pick 5" reference. And the "legal jargon" reference could infer that this trade has to be approved by the NBA because of the players being released and re-signing with their former teams. Indy gets major cap relief, a young player with good potential, and perhaps a draft choice from us. Thoughts? What is the new league rules regarding these kinds of trade and release transactions?
Or, we could do a sign and trade with Minny for Sprewell, feeding his FAMILY with a 1 yr./$3 mill. contract. Read somewhere that he has some offers but is holding out for $3 mill. I dunno. Guess we will find out tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure the new league rule is that a player released after a trade cannot sign with the team he was originally traded from...at least not for a length of time (during which other teams can offer him more $$)
Guys, I think it is time you give up on this thread..............time to lock, bury and put it to rest......
Man, the Rockets are advertising the hell out of this promotion. I'm starting to think Doc was being literal, and maybe just a little tipsy when he posted. And maybe he was rocking out at the time listening to some 80s hair bands.
