90 years with a guaranteed 30 years, thats about as fair as its going to get. He should get exactly what he did back at him. His mother is only making excuses for him. In my opinion, this boy is going to be scarred for life. All the mental anguish and care he is going to need; not to mention the physical care. Come on now, is 90 years even enough.

Wow, so you and your friends stuck things up each other for giggles huh? If you think this was a prank, you're terribly wrong.

"The victim, a Klein Collins High School senior, also testified that he has had at least 30 surgeries and has more to go."

    You're wrong on this one

I think he not only survive but he might even thrive. In the screwed up world of prison the Aryan prison gang will probably idolize this guy and protect him.

I voted no because I have seen people get lighter sentences for killing someone. This was a bunch of idiots doing drugs and then acting stupid because of it. I don't think they were trying to kill him, they had just been hanging out together getting high. Their judgement was severely impaired, the little girl made some accusations, and they tried to get some retribution. I'm sure to them what they were doing seemed reasonable. They should get whatever the standard punishment for aggravated assault is, plus the punishment for the drugs, plus the punishment for endangering a minor for giving drugs to the little girl.

Don't worry Newyorker doesn't really believe this. He's just conducting a BBS experiment where he posts random positions under a variety of ethnic identities to generate controversy.

Or at least that will be his explanation for why yelling "white power" as you brutalize a Mexican-American kid isn't a hate crime.

Hahaha. Nice one. Unfortunately this statement is probably closer to the truth than a joke.

Except that impaired judgement due to drugs isn't considered an ammeliorating circumstance. Also the fact that they attempted to cover it up shows that they were aware of the potential consequences of their action and still had enough judgement to try to cover it up. While yes others have gotten lesser sentences for murder most of the things you cite are more agravating circumstances than ameliorating.

That is the correct punishment. This guy should not be allowed on the streets again. He is a monster that is a danger to society.

I threw the drug thing in there to help explain that they were not trying to kill him. Ninety years would be a reasonable term for attempted murder. The drugs could certainly be used to up the sentence on the assault (along with the serious bodily injury they caused) to aggravated assault. Even with that taken into account, the sentence seems about twice as long as it needs to be.

The right and just punishment would be to stick the same pipe into these racist white kids into their butt repeatedly for hours.

Do you still think that 90 years is too much?
