I just served on a jury for 3 days for a criminal case last week. It was my 3rd time to get a summons and first time to get selected on a jury. It was actually a pretty cool experience.

Apparently, many people are no-showing/rescheduling jury duty lately, which makes it more likely to get selected on a panel. Last week they were over 400 jurors short, pretty much everyone that showed up for jury duty was selected for a panel.

I've always wanted to be part of a jury in an emotionally high profile case, like in the movies. Like an old Tom Cruise movie or something.

Honest question, can you take off jury duty for not being fluent in English?

Honest question, can you take off jury duty for being flatulent?

    That's like 70% of Houston.

    Unlikely.

Probably. That's one of the questions they ask. If one of the involved parties isn't fluent in English maybe it makes you more likely to be picked? Not sure.
