lol. I bought a couple #1 issues of this comic book in January 2020 thinking it would go up in price on hype. It has, I guess, but I still don't know what it's about. :D

Do you have an unboxing vid of your #1 issues? Might help us more than that trailer in knowing what it's about.

So... I read a article a couple of days ago.

General plot - first generation of superheros is getting old. Their kids are trying to follow in their parents' footsteps but they have "issues" making it work.

It was described as "Netflix's answer to The Boys" so I imagine it's supposed to be pretty graphic.

The d-lister leading the marquee is "Josh Duhamel".

I, personally, am expecting something between a dud and a trainwreck. Setting out to imitate the success of something unique like The Boys never seems to quite work.

That's why I included the link.

Ottomaton explained the premise pretty well.

You shouldn't put periods in your thread title.

    Never heard of it
I read the first four issues last night. There are similarities to The Boys, but the story is nothing like The Boys.

Read the rest of the series. It’s actually better than The Boys, IMO.

The guy who created it also created Kick-Ass, Wanted and The Kingsman, so if you liked those movies this show will appeal.

I think it is a response to the Boys in that it is Netflix's "superheroes behaving badly" genre show. Didnt mean to compare beyond that.

I didn’t take any offense, just giving an objective viewpoint after reading the comics (I read The Boys too)

It turns out that Netflix acquired the rights to this and all of Millar’s other comics back in 2017, too.

How did read all of it so quickly?

You sound like me as kid, once I started a book I would not put it down, I read the entire Hardy boys series in about a week.

It's 10 issues. Millar seems to like to worldbuild as opposed to digging into character development and storytelling.

    Show cancelled, spinoff ordered.

"Jupiter’s Legacy will be short-lived: Netflix has cancelled the eight-episode adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely’s graphic novels less than a month after the premiere of Season 1.

According to Deadline, however, the streamer is keeping the franchise alive via Supercrooks, a new super villain-themed series set in the Jupiter’s Legacy universe."

Watched it on a recommendation from a friend and it was ok but never thought it brought anything new to the table, the bad wigs and aging stuff was really distracting to me at least.

I didn't know anything about it going in and I'll probably forget about it fairly quickly....
