Good post, but I do believe that teams like SA and OKC are ahead of us if the season started today. Obviously we have some time, but some improvements do need to be made at some point.
IF our goal is WCF or 2nd round sure stand pat. But if we want to win it all we have to swing for the fences, we have 3 teams that are better than us right now or 2 if we don't count OKC. Howard's starting to become injury prone and we don't know how long of a window we have.
I dont get how those teams became better than the Rockets just because they made moves this offseason. If anything those teams have not proved anything. The Rockets on the other hand just came off of a WCF appearance and according to some posters have the same players and have not made additions. Should that not count for something? That team already proved that they are the 2nd best in the West!
What do you mean by "ahead of us"? How in July can any team be ahead of another team? You can easily say that on paper other teams have more proven talent, but two years ago the Nets had more talent than anyone. The year before that the Lakers had the most talent when they acquired D12 & Nash. I think the whole purpose of this post was to tell folks around here to not overreact to the first week of free agency because history shows Morey sure as hell doesn't and ends up better off because of it. Brewer, Terry, and Josh Smith fell into our Laps last year because Morey didn't overreact to the failed Bosh signing and made the unsexy signing of Ariza instead of other more glamourous players. Capela took half of a season. Etc. Morey isn't an idiot. He knows what we know and we need better trust in him to deliver once again like he almost always does.

Does anyone think we will be able to sign BOTH DMo and Jones at season's end? We NEED to move one SOON or we will turn nothing on one of our better assets. Harden asked for help; he knows he can not play at beard mode level all the time every game. I am Chicken Little --> the sky is looking heavy. (Llull was the answer--> what is the answer now) Spurs,Warriors, Thunder, Grizzlies maybe even the Pelicans --> only takes one to be better than us.
