So basically if you'd like to be able to make smoothies with vegetables, your only option is to get a $500 blender?
The term juicing is a process not a diet. FACT. And juicing was around a lot longer than dieting. There is a difference between juicers and dieters and most of the juicers I know are NOT dieters. It’s a life style to maintain balance. The diet aspect to juicers, let’s say, is icing on the cake. While I agree with you that eating the whole vegetable is healthier, as in a smoothie, and I do love smoothies, I find it odd that you’re trying to turn this into a pissing contest when both ideas are so excellent for one’s health.
LOL, Pugs, not one juicer in the bunch. But that Cuisinart CBT-500 Blender is a great blender that I use. Simple and strong. Had mine for a couple of years and it is still kicking ass.
which point? that people were juicing before dieting? or my opinion that VoR was trying to instill fear about juicing to promote smoothies?

While I don't disagree with your premise that too much juice is bad for you, I want you to find me a published peer-reviewed study that links prolonged juice fasting with type II diabetes. There are stupid decisions and there are dangerous decisions, and juice fasting right now falls in the former rather than the latter.
Not trying to piss on anyone. The OP asked about Juicing. I am a health nut, and thought I would share my thoughts on the subject. Most people that want to try juicing are looking for a healthier lifestyle. To make that decision means researching the pros and cons on a specific subject. My research led me to have a different point of view on the subject.
Now this is evidence! I also repped you. Consumption of green leafy vegetables and fruit was associated with a lower hazard of diabetes, whereas consumption of fruit juices may be associated with an increased hazard among women. While we should always be vigilant when extrapolating data for women onto men, it should be noted that indeed juice is associated with an increased risk of diabetes.
Nice to learn that I've been doing it wrong, and that juicing only involves fruit. Thanks for the pro-advice!
If the OP was asking about juicing fruits and vegetables instead of eating a meal, then I agree with you that it is very unhealthy as a lifestyle. But as a short term diet plan, not so bad. As a way to cleanse yourself periodically, nothing is better. As a way to pass a piss test, works for me. I just thought that towards the end of the OP's post that he was asking about juicing in general. I admit I know nothing about juicing as a diet except for what I read. But what I do know is juicing as a lifestyle through experience.
my doctor also told me that juicing is unhealthy and she told me to stop taking my daily 1g of vit C. Oh well.... what do doctors know about nutrition... it's not part of the their curriculum but to prescribe pills and get commissions from drug companies.. <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5k-rcedkIME" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I am a type 2 diabetic take 4 shots of insulin a day. Thought about replacing 2 meals a day with green smoothies, any serious recipe ideas out here. One 4oz glass of orange juice is about all the sweet I can handle. Is there any good broccoli recipes out there? Thought broccoli and enough coffee to make it liquified. Have a good blender that I use to make margaritas for my wife & friends.
