Wife and I are starting to juice tomorrow. Our Breville arrived monday, and we have been cleaning the fridge & pantry of food in preparation. We watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead, and it motivated us to give it a shot. We are aiming for 2 months on our first go-round. What a neat coincidence. Appreciate the tips, tested!
I started juicing one week ago with a juicer, so i just added spinach, brussell sprouts, squash tomatoes, string beans, carrots, mustard greens, etc. most veggies. I drink it as fast as possible becuase its not a great taste. Alot of fiber is left over though in the casing. So a blender will do the trick?? To use all the veggies.
you might want to create a separate thread and update it daily about your progress ... sort of a blog.. the bigggest temptatiion is when you smell food.... if you can avoid it during the first 3 days then you'll be fine. headaches in the first day or two is normal. the more toxins in your body , the worse or longer the headache will be. bon appetit, oops, cheers!!
Heh heh - juicers. Good luck guys. I had a nice tenderloin with some rice for dinner tonight. *trollface*
Postponing for one more day. Only drinking smoothies today, because it turns out a lot of the fruit we bought are not very good for juicing, so we decided to use them today and ease into the juicing a bit. It is a learning process. Some sort of banana-spinach concoction with random fruits for breakfast.
you might to list down the reasons why you're doing this. cuz when you smell food, it's easy to get tempted... if that happens just go back to the list to remind you.
Just curious, how is the actual juice more beneficial than say, just throwing a bunch of fruits and veggies in a blender or food processor? It just always makes me sad to see so much delicious wasted pulp. Juicing berries almost seems criminal. But if it's a fast for the purpose of resting your digestive system and releasing toxins, I understand that. When I went on my 10 day water fast last year I was releasing toxins like crazy the first few days...tongue was completely white and I smelled like moth balls. I didn't know you could achieve the same effects with juice but that's good to know.
dude, Kale is the most potent component for juicing and should be used in every juice meal. If you have Netflix watch this dude
actually that's what im doing now. after my 10day juice fast, since i have the 5000Watt juicer ( blendtec), I don't juice my spinach and kael anymore. i put them everything into the blender and mix it with green grapes and lemon. I do this every night as my dinner. this way i eat anything i crave for during lunch. I do fruit juice for breakfast. so far my weight is stable. for carrot and orange, i still juice them (for breakfast and snacks at work).

One day down! 59 to go. I might make a thread, but it will depend on how I am feeling. Short version: So far I have not had much in the way of cravings. Mid-day was a bit tempting, because there were still breakfast foods leftover in the floor's kitchen. (Secretary always buys a giant batch of doughnuts and McDonalds on Fridays.) But, it wasn't so much that I wanted to eat those particular foods, but rather I did not want the food to go to waste! I got over it, after confirming that I am indeed a loon. Had a great swim today... totally blocked some dude's lane. He did not say anything, but I know he was angry. No obvious changes or side effects, except my tongue is great googly moogly disgusting. Wife has already eaten some watermelon and a banana, so maybe I am lucky that my food cravings have not hit yet.
My sister wants to try this but she's borderline hypoglycemic and needs protein to keep her blood sugar balanced. Not sure how this will affect her, but she's determined to give it a try.
