    In other words, you completely disagree with many mainstream Republicans who advocate for the termination of Social Security and Medicaid, among other programs which comprise the "safety net" to which you referred.

    I don't think you do. They have dramatic wealth redistribution and the government employs 30% of the workforce.

That is a drop from 2001 from -$905, so in that decade, the median "poor" household lost more than $5,000 in net worth.

    In other words, your contention here couldn't possibly be further off base.

    You do realize that in Germany, employees get to elect their own representatives to the board of directors of their companies, right? It isn't even just one member, it is "almost half" of the board that the employees elect.

    You do realize that tax rates in Germany and the Scandinavian countries you lauded earlier are much more comparable to France than to the US, right? France may well have gone above optimal on the Laffer curve, but it is difficult to argue against the proposition that the United States is well below the Laffer optimal tax rate.
