I'd like to see Pirog get some more experience before we throw him in the ring with either p.will or martinez. Martinez is way too crafty of a fighter to make that his next fight.

But like I have been saying, jacobs vs pirog WAS the fight sat. night. It was a beautiful thing. I LOVED it.

Everybody here wants to talk about JMM and JD, but i can't get over how good pirog was. He put one on jacobs for real.

They are negotiating with Martinez for a possible October date. I think Pirog beats Sergio honestly. He's stronger and better defensively. Pirog is 30 years old too so he's going to look to move quickly.

It was a great punch. That overhand right would have dropped anyone. I hated it for obvious reasons but the kid deserves all the credit in the world.

It was the main event coming off a fight of the year with two fighters who have big followings. It deserved the accolades it got. That said, Pirog certainly came out as the nights big winner.

if he wins against Khan then there's no reason why Arum would not give it.

I think he was valedictorian or close to it in high school. He's not dumb at all just not a great public speaker. And he got a college degree while being a world champion. That's not easy.

I wonder why he is signed with Pellulo. That guy fell off the map after Freitas retired.

Then I'd like to see it.

Then he'll deserve to be called out like Floyd for ducking.

You want to see Marquez at a weight where he already proved he was not effective (147 against Floyd)? Why?

Who would deserve to get called out for ducking?

it's almost always the case. big is better than small boxers. that's why we have different divisions. Marquez was physically smaller than Floyd.

Exactly. It was Floyd Mayweather. And it's not like Marquez was handled physically. Floyd outboxed him.

    Pacquiao.

Actually, Floyd carried Marquez. That fight sucked. I give Floyd no credit for that win. It was a bull**** fight.

Pacquaio ducked a third marquez fight actually. You should call out Manny for ducking Paul Williams, Tim Bradley and Sergio martinez. I highly doubt you are planning on doing that though

Uhh... he fought De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto and Clottey, instead? But if he's going to force Marquez up to 147 he's ducking. He fought Hatton at 140.

Seriously? DLH (had not made 147 in like 10 years), Hatton (had been ko'd by Floyd), Cotto (good win), Clottey (you have to be kidding). Williams, Bradley and Martinez are all better opponents then everyone except Cotto. Williams and Martinez would be the best opponents out of the group. I will say the same about Floyd for not fighting the same guys. The only thing Floyd has is he fought SSM and that's the best name out of all the guys Floyd and Pac have fought recently.

Honestly, I don't think Manny can make 140 again. I wouldn't criticize Pac for not going back to 140.

Uhh... I'm not gonna bite on this. This'll stray too far from the only point I'm interested in making:

I think he's already pushing himself at 147. He's 5'6, he'll make light welterweight easy.

Pacqquiao is at the top of the hill, why would you match him with rookies? They are good boxers with great potential. but you have to fight go to the right channels, unless you're Brock.

James Kirkland vs. Pirog? He is just about to get out of prison. Would this be an intriguing fight?

ehhh.. I dunno. Kirkland hasn't fought anyone with Pirog's skillset. I think Pirog can outbox him. The fact that Kirkland is a southpaw would be his biggest advantage. Not likely they throw Kirkland in there with him next though.
