Diaz simply doesn't have a body of good boxer. If Manny's punches could not put JMM to sleep, Diaz' is nothing at all.

Good point, although with the kinda heart that Marquez has, I don't think a ****ing Mack truck could keep him down.

Apparently Diaz is a very sharp cookie who is gonna go to law school.

I think he probably needs to retire or risk having some of his mental faculties compromised.

    Great fighter though.

No way. Marquez doesn't stand a chance anymore. He will be cut by the 3rd round.. and gets destroyed by the 6th. Diaz didn't even ever really land anything hard on him and his face looked ****ed up. Unless Pacquaio loses against his next opponent... it won't happen.

Pirog was an amazing fighter. Certainly much better then anyone could expect. The way he continued to switch stances is going to make him a nightmare match up with anyone in the division. He switched orthodox, southpaw, orthodox to set up that right hand that Danny never saw coming. He was out until the count hit 4. He woke up and tried to get up but the ref had already waved off the fight. It was a good stoppage. Even if Danny did get up he was going to be on really wobbly legs. No sense in risking any damage. I would pick Pirog to beat Martinez. He's a humble kid and a really good fighter. Definitely a good guy to root for. Glad to see him getting some love here. Danny will still be a world champion. No question. We will use this as a learning experience. No shame in a loss. Oh, and someone said Danny made excuses. He didn't. He gave Pirog all the credit in the world. All Danny said was the health and death of his Grandma during training camp had an effect on him. There's no way it could not have. Danny's grandma raised him. She was the closest person to him in this world. Just thought people should know that. That said, I don't think that's why he lost the fight

As far as Juan goes, I don't think he gets enough credit as a fighter. He would never beat Marquez but there's no shame in that either. I have JMM at 3 in my personal p4p rankings. He's an all time legend. Juan has definitely lost some hand speed and movement. Kid has been in a lot of wars. If he can make 130 it could be interesting.

JMM has no business at 147. That's where Pacquiao would make him fight.

Juan landed some hard shots behind that jab in the first half of the fight and in rounds 11 and 12.

Always been a Juan fan because of his Houston roots.

I hope he retires and finds a career in law...I'd love to meet him down at the courthouse! :)

I don't mean to be a smart ass or anything but to me Diaz doesn't look very smart. And he has no presentation skills and the way he presents himself during interviews has me questioning his intelligence. I figure if he wants to be a good lawyer at the very least you have to have good presentation skills.

I wish him the best though. I hope he proves me wrong. I like seeing athletes do the right thing and have a backup plan.

As far as the fight, I wish he would have gone all out during the 8 and beyond. That would have satisfied me as a fan.

I was listening to an interview he did on espn radio before the fight and he said he hasn't gotten into law school yet. He still has to take the LSAT and he has been putting it off because of his training.

Damn, I was saying that Pirog was a dangerous fight for Danny. Didn't expect a knockout though. Diaz fought a good fight. He wins if he fought anyone else not named Juan Manuel Marquez. He completely changed the way he fought. Got rocked a couple times and recovered like a champ. The Baby Bull Diaz probably gets knocked out again. But Juan isn't going to win many fights if he doesn't throw a lot of punches.

    157 isn't even a weight class.

I agree with Juan not coming off as a smart dude. He just has too much "Nawfside" in him.
