Apparently him and his sister were acting a fool in China and Smith was pulling an Allen Iverson with his team. Dude can ball at times, but he's about as far from a consummate professional as there is in this league.
He's a chucker. This is about right. For the amount of good plays he makes there's an equal amount of wtf plays to balance it out.
