How is getting a possible above average point guard at 5.1 MM for two years and 14 million in the last year ... desperate move when you have dealt all your point guards, the potential incoming point guard is a serious cash cow, while the contract is anything but long-term.

How does this throw the Rockets into salary cap peril, when the team has no big salaries over the next 3 years.

You do realize that Morey has a boss who has already tasted the riches of the asian market? I'm sure that Les gets what Les wants.

I don't have a problem with what Melo said. It is a ridiculous contract. For New York.

The genius of Morey's chess move is whether the NY matches or not this has hurt the Knicks.

Marshmallow's rep took a vicious hit over this, and deservedly so. It was a punk move based purely on jealousy, and it has zero to do with paychecks and everything to do with sharing the ball and sharing the limelight. Nor do I see these two guys coexisting now. There's only one ball.

And Dragic's getting $30M off basically a 20 game stretch too right? But noone stepped up and said that was ridiculous.

According to the guys on ESPN earlier tonight, none of them could ever recall any other instance where players spoke out against another player's contract. They're supposed to be a fraternity and that's part of the code. And while I'm not one to call racism where it's not warranted, there's no other explanation here. Haters gonna hate.

    Stephen Smith calling out Lin:

[rquoter]Jeremy Lin has been all about the money since the day he burst onto Broadway.

Lin was about the Benjamins when Linsanity made the cover of Time magazine. He definitely was overcome by dollar signs when he wouldn't play at "85 percent" for the New York Knicks in the playoffs, and it was all about the bottom line once free agency arrived.

So now that Lin has confirmed the obvious, signing an offer sheet from the Houston Rockets that would dole out a balloon payment of $14.8 million in the third year of a reported deal worth approximately $25 million, it's time for the Knicks to mirror Lin's behavior.

That means acknowledging Lin's worth, recognizing it's far less than $14.8 million in any season, and cutting ties with him quicker than we can spell s-a-n-i-t-y.

I get a real kick from listening to this guy. You can tell he's bitter. If they weren't in salary cap hell, there'd be no doubt that they'd match this offer sheet.

What a dumb ass punk. Don't discuss other people's salaries, so unprofessional. JR and Melo are the dumbest pieces of **** in the league. I can not stand them. I have never seen so many professional b****es outside of Vegas in my life.

How do you fault a guy for signing a contract offered to him? Such a douche bag move.

J.R Smith just speaking the truth. I think J.R. Smith trying to help Lin by gtting this message out and show how other teammates might feels about his contract.

From the venom Stephen A. has been spewing it almost seems like he's more butt-hurt than the Knicks are!
And who's not all about the money?!

If it had been a black player melo wouldnt have said that since he's "mr. no snitching". But since it's an asian guy from harvard and not a tat'd up wangster like j.r. it's all good to hate.

I agree it's not about the paycheck at all. He purposely played like garbage to get D'Antoni fired after returning from his injury. Now he throws Lin under the bus even though the Knicks wouldn't have made it to the playoffs if it weren't for the Linsanity run. Not to mention he claimed credit for Lin getting playing time in the first place. I don't even have to bring up his history in Denver.

Forget winning and championships, ego and looking good come first w/ Melo.
