Your pessimism is believing the reporter. Let's be real here.

Some people here seem to be hoping that this story is true.

Yao's supposedly ahead of schedlue. As we do not know what his schedule is missing a couple of months mighn't be a bad thing as long as it isn't a set back. Making the "info" public is bad for the Yao and the Rockets. As there could be pressure to have Yao ready to counter the bad PR or because as you've said they're trying to sell tickets.

I remember after that horrific Andrew Bogut injury, which sidelined him for the rest of the season + playoffs, Woelfel reported that Bogut only had a dislocated elbow.... However, Woelfel has broken a large amount of news for the Bucks and should have a decent amount of reliable sources, and it would make sense for the Rockets organization to deny the information.

Very true, but in general the Woj has been spot on every time he posts something. I'm not saying I'm not dominated by wishful thinking, but I really do not see this story coming to fruition.

I can't believe Administrator allow this thread to continue. Any one with common sense should know this article is unreliable. And now to have someone like Morey to come out and declare it as "totally false?" Ridiculous.

Look, Morey also said that Carl Landry's knee needed to be scoped before signing a contract.

This guy has no dog in the fight, none......why would he lie?

If you listen to the interview with him he qualifies it a lot.....so while Yao may be ready, I think the reporter is reporting what he heard.....it is information that is not covered in "I want to sell tickets" sauce.

Either way, there are 2 and 1/2 months for Yao to get even healthier and times change, but I doubt the guy was lying.

Let's hope that Yao will be ready, but temper that hope with legitimate reports like this one....

It doesn't matter that the report is probably less than factual - what's scary is that it wouldn't surprise any of us.

A lot of posters have referenced the fact that it would decimate their high hopes. I haven't had high hopes since the first injury.

I love Yao. I want him to succeed here, because he's a Rocket. But I am never holding my breath that this guy can remain healthy, and therefore am not holding my breath that this team will be successful (because they won't be without a healthy Yao).

    Hope I'm wrong.

You said it... he is an insider for the Bucks, why he would know something about the rockets at first hand?
If JCF posted that Bogut would not return this season, would you believe him?
Because he is not an insider for the Bucks.

Other example: Jared Dudley said that a very realiable source told him that LBJ was going to NY, and he believed that, and posted as a fact in his twitter, and lots of people thought that was real info, did Dudley and his "very reliable source" got it right??

Just because he works for a team, doesnt mean that he knows all news about all teams in the league.

That's pretty much how I see it. It would be awesome to see Yao average 20/10/2 in the playoffs, all the way to the Finals, but I don't think his body can handle the minutes. I hope I'm wrong, though.
