BIMATHUG I'm requesting a breakdown of the max money rockets, Dallas, Kings & warriors can offer him ? seems like from insiders these are the teams that are interested. I think we should 100% go after him for !! get depth for playoffs give him a short leash
Why does he need to receive more than the league vet minimum? It just goes against what Detroit owes, regardless, does it not?
His BFF is actually Rondo. I don't think people really realize how bad Josh Smith is. For free I'd take a gamble on him as a guy you bring in for a few minutes for defense, but he's not a good player. He doesn't even finish well any more, shooting about 40% on 2 pointers!!!!
We would have someone to match up with Blake and Aldridge. He played bad in Detroit but he was unmotivated. Him coming to a contender would probably change his mindset. He was a beast back when he was with running with ATL.
Does Dallas have their BAE? Does Josh Smith go somewhere to be a bench player, when he could go to Houston and be a starter? I dunno about the Dallas thing. If its me, and I'm Smith, I still think that I have the ability to play at an all star level and Houston has a pretty big hole to fill at PF.
agreed hard to be motivated playing on a team like the pistons, playing on a contender again with his buddy Dwight will bring his talent out again
perfect we don't need him to shoot 2 pointers...just rebound, defend, and finish in the paint on occasion. black and dorsey should be reserves
Looks like, among the early reports: Clippers Kings Mavs Maybe the Rockets __________________________

The Clippers could only offer Josh Smith a minimum contract but they could also offer him an immediate starting position on a contender.
— Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) December 22, 2014

It doesn't matter what you need him to do, it matters what he's going to do. If he would have done what the Pistons needed him to do, then they wouldn't have decided it was better to pay him 26 million dollars to not play for them. No one would even give a 2nd rounder for him.
Josh Smith was randomly cut?

Had heard from a Pistons front office member that Detroit daily pursued Josh Smith trades with all 29 other NBA teams. Zero were interested.
— Jake Fischer (@JakeLFischer) December 22, 2014
I know Smoove has been awful in Detroit, but I can't believe they just cut him. Kind of a ballsy move, actually. Ahh **** it, waive Brandon Jennings too while we're at it.
he's also the classic case of a guy who thought he was better than he is who gets taken down a peg. Those guys traditionally do well when given redemption on good teams
