6'7" Josh Smith measurements. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Josh-Smith-4421/ He is 6'8" in shoes. and in decline. I really think this guy is a clubhouse cancer, and is not a good player anymore, you don't get DUMPED by a lottery team if you are still a valuable player and other teams would trade for you..... We are REACHING, we don't need to grab every piece of garbage off the NBA's scrap heap. DD
This is lol worthy..... D-Mo can't defend on the perimeter. He is an anchor on defense. Back-up center.

Well does Josh play without shoes on? You keep pushing the D-Mo wagon. Can you tell me what he's done to lead you to believe he is better than Josh Smith?
I see that you don't watch the games - so we will just agree to disagree here. And it is NOT about DMO - it is about how bad Josh SMith is.... DD
didn't know if this had been posted yet http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12070708/miami-heat-make-move-eye-landing-josh-smith
But that "garbage" comes with very little risk. Smith at $13M is garbage. Smith at less than $3M...not so much.
Do you think Houston with its current roster is going anywhere in the West? Smith is pretty much free in NBA dollars and won't hurt cap wise. And the Mavs have done more in the playoffs since Hakeem left than the Rockets have... And it's because Cuban is all about going for it now and not later. Morey isn't going to pass on Smith, but Smith might go to the Mavs anyway. I don't know what kind of player the Rockets will get in Smith (ATL/DET) , but if they don't try something I can bet they won't have to worry about chemistry because it didn't matter to begin with, I mean what did we lose a Western Conference 2nd round exit at best or a team that just goes home after the first round?? Haha, yeah I'm going to lose sleep over that. You have to gamble for a shot in the West.
I don't think many people rank DD's basketball opinions any higher than those of the worst knee jerk radio talk show caller.
Just because the Heat apply for the injury exception doesn't mean they will necessarily sign him. That's a team with a losing record at the moment - if you believe the comments that he wants to go to a contender then it would certainly rule out Miami unless Josh just wants to lay around on the beach and count the money Detroit is paying him.
Josh smith gives you the David west and Zach Randolph (both 6'9)factor, which is toughness. I'm all for dmo ' s scoring, which makes him perfect coming off the bench with brewer.
Signing Josh Smith and liking DMo don't have to be mutually exclusive. While DMo has played better as of late, he is no Josh Smith. Smith is more athletic, better defender, better in transition, but does lack the refined offensive game of DMo. That being said, Smith has played at a high level for 10 years. Look back at what he's done...only a couple of players can boast averages like that. He's been on a very bad team as of late, has been a malcontent, and probably regretted signing there. He wants to play here....he will start(and will do very well). I guarantee you that not one coach in this league would start DMo over him...not at this stage. We need defense and rebounding--this is what Smith excels at. DMo is great off the bench...give it time. I believe that Smith is the missing piece to a run at the Spurs(or whomever). Getting Dragic would certainly upgrade our pg situation(as long as we keep Bev). Trading DMo would not be easy, but a healthy and motivated Dragic is light years more valuable than our best bench player. How is this so hard to see? When Smith is tearing down rims, blocking shots, and shutting down the good West PFs, don't be on the bandwagon.
Simple question, Dada. When we are in the heat of a 7-game series against the Clippers or Portland or the Spurs or the Warriors or the Mavs or the Grizzlies or OKC or the Pels.....do you want to run one of Black/Dorsey out there or do you want to run Josh Smith out there? If the playoffs started today....either Black or Dorsey is our third big.
This is a gamble worth taking. If Smith works out, we may be able to dispose of an assets like TJ or DMo to get Dragic. You have to roll the dice on Josh Smith.
so you posted his draft measurements when he came out of high school..makes sense. he definitely stayed the same size
You act like it's Josh Smith or status quo. That's a false choice. If Morey wants him, no problem, but I am not going to have a panic attack if he goes to Dallas.
