Tough one the more I think about it but we need to pull the trigger on this. Clearly, Morey wants him and it sounds like McHale does too (based on the Feigen tweet) so that's all I really need to know. DMo can still easily get 25 minutes a game backing up the C and PF position. If his ego or confidence can't handle backing up two proven, impact players then odds are he is too mentally fragile to handle playoff basketball much less the grind of a Championship run. Even with his recent success he looks like he could be fool's gold to me. I can only imagine the fast break finishes and lobs this team will provide with Brewer, Dwight and Smith on the court. How would like to have Harden coming at you full tilt with Brewer and Smith on the wings and Howard as the trailer? Scary.
Play 2k14 MyPlayer. Get drafted to the Timberpuppies. You have to beat him out for his starter spot, then Adelman decides to play him or you at 2 guard. You get to know him, you get to hate him. What about Rubes? He gets injured EVERY TIME.
Dorsey FTS .211 Season FTA: 4/19 Smith FTS .468 Season FTA: 52/111 What else makes Dorsey > Smith? Bye bye Joey.
Play Dorsey and Dwight at the same time. Then whenever Dwight gets a foul, have Dorsey raise his hand. The two look similar enough, the refs will give all Howard's fouls to Dorsey... Profit!
Wednesday. --------------- Also this is a possible issue if Miami wants him more than we do: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Heat probably need Smith the most, plus could have a DPE coming soon if they do a meniscus repair for McRoberts and he's out the year.</p>— Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/NateDuncanNBA/status/547104670083055616">December 22, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I do not think it is smart to drive up the demand and seem like we really want him, let alone interested at all until he clears waivers. Any team who bids on him can still use him as a trade chip. Things might get messy, but it is still a low risk move financially. He would be great at PF if he cut down his jumpers (easier said than done).
I am not sure what is that they want so badly? Shooting? Mediocre rebounding? Oh yeah his steals and shotblocking. Didn't we have that already? Just trying to understand this. Yes he will bring things but not something that we severely lack. IMHO. He adds more.
We don't have enough roster spaces but we probably would not lose either. I think we would probably cut Joey Dorsey. At this point I would play him at PF and who knows if Terrence Jones is even coming back this season. He has not even started running yet according to Jonathan Feigen. That is not good.
