Completely forgot about the Bellineli contract...if the cap stays at the initially estimated $67 MM, the Kings I THINK will be able to offer essentially the same amount as the MLE assuming their Philly trade is executed. If it rises to $69, as Crash pointed out, they could offer $7 MM.
They dumped about 15 million in Landry, Stauskas and Thompson to Philly for cap space. So they should have somewhere in the neighborhood of ~10 million to spend.
Isn't it more since they let Williams walk to the Knicks? Not sure if his cap hold was included in the numbers
You are right, I applied the league minimum for a player with 10 years and it should have been a 1 year vet salary which would is $845,059 for this season.
That is entirely possible. I'm not certain of all of their off season moves to this point. I am only factoring in the Rondo / Kostas acquisitions and the Landry / Stauskas / Thompson trade so there is likely something I'm missing.
Yeah I'm pulling figures from hoopshype so not sure if my numbers off. Taking out Landry/Thompson/Stauskas/(Williams cap hold) and then adding koufos/rondo/belinelli leaves 17-18m in cap. Pretty sure I'm missing something but not sure what.
I missed the Belinelli signing. Kosta - 4 yrs / 33 mil Rondo - 1 yr / 9.5 mil Belinelli - 3 yr / 19 mil So that is about ~23 million for next season
Ah that's right i forgot about that. So bima just said this guy bobby marks is a good follow on Twitter to give updated cap space info on teams. https://twitter.com/bobbymarks42/status/617523429235888128 Here's his latest update that has the Kings space at $7.7m. Teams w/ Space: DEN (6.5), DET (3.8), IND (13.1), LAL (5.1), MIL (3.7), ORL (17.4), PHI (15.7), PHX (6.9), POR (24.3), SAC (7.7), UTH (9.4)
I think he tweeted that shortly BEFORE the Koufos signing was announced. So the Kings may well be largely out of cap room.
thank you! that's ver interesting. but btw it's only aproximate so don't take it as face value. i.e mil has 5-7 mil in capspace depending what they do with the tpe. Lal has to count also the trade kicker. etcetc so lets see this list now Den : rebuilding and has problems with characters. Brought over Jokic. Unlikely to be interested. Det : no lol Indy : could be interested because they have a hole in pf. Lal: could be interested Mil: need a forward but i will be shocked if interested Orl : they wanted milsap but hennigan has a type for players character. he won't be interested. Phil : looking to absorb more contracts and get some marginal backcourt talent. not interested phx : could be interested because they are desperate. por : should talk to gsw to absorb lee for looney other than that..doubt it they are interested. sac: interested utah : shouldn't be interested but they were looking for a big to add.. so i guess it's sac, indy , lal, phoenix and who knows about portland. that's who i think should be interested. but it sounds good so far. they shouldn't offer more than 5 per.
Thanks. I think it's only a matter of time before Josh Smith joins the Kings. His absence will hurt us a lot.
If Bima is right and the Kings are out of cap space. Who would even be in consideration for J Smoove? Ind? Maybe Lal?
Is it the rockets, or is it josh smith waiting to agree to the bird right deal. To me it's a no brainier for the rockets to try and keep smith at that that low of a price. I can't see him going to sac, that makes no sense for him. Talk about a coaching mismatch.
