I wonder if Josh will get a thank you video when he comes here next season.

He did only play half a season with us but he was huge for us, especially in the playoffs!

    Did Crazy Pills get one?

You guys need to calm down. If you want to know how to beat the Clippers now, mark my words: let josh smith (happily) chuck up 20 jumpers instead of Blake or Paul or Reddick (or Pierce, or...).

Seriously, I will never forget his marvelous 3 quarters of nearly perfect playoff basketball (not even one whole game), but he drove a lot of people crazy for a lot of his time here.

Unique talent. Capable of amazing things when locked in. Enigmatic. Sometimes made us think he had quit. Not ultimately reliable. We made a good offer, IMHO.

Honestly I kinda don't care lol I prefer go small ball more

    His ft shooting was annoying

His defense was barely average ... His 3pt shots will be better served from someone else I think

I think the Clippers promised him the starting SF spot.

From what i understand, giving Josh the full MLE creates a hard cap, which makes it tougher to pay everyone else left..Harrell, Thornton, camp guys, etc.

Hell yeah give him a Thank You video. Mavericks Game 2 and Clippers Game 6 were probably the two most awesome moments of the season. Josh was awesome. Sad to see him go.

No you don't..because you'd have to take into consideration how they use their rookies. Houston lets them dip their toes in the NBA for a few games and then stashes them in the D league. Unless smith knows of any future unexpected plans with the rooks, he'd have to assume they're not a factor for at least one season. He signed a one year, so it's not like he was intent on signing long term.

Why? If it's true that Morey offered Smith the non-Bird exception of $2.49 million, then Smith took essentially half as much money to play for a likely smaller role in LA. Please explain to me how that's Morey's fault? That logic makes no sense.

You are correct in saying Smith does not have DUIs. If you think he is clean, then that is a nice image for you to have with his departure and we can leave it at that.

:eek:He wants a defined traditional role right after the Dubs rewrote the rules to a 'ship by going small, having multi-position flexible guys, and completely taking a good Mozgov out of the game for big stretches.

What is going to blow the GARM's mind next year is when from Game 1 TJ is clearly the better basketball player than Josh Smith.

But we'll be fine. He's THEIR problem now.
He's likely not going to have free reign to shoot like he did here.
He shot us OUT of more games than he saved.
And they can deal with the Hack a Josh
