@ajchawks: Hawks have agreed to deal with Paul Milsap. #ATLHawks So ATL signs Milsap, which must mean that Smith is on the trading block. It appears that Mr. Morey has executed his plan to perfection. Question now is, what do we give up for him? Asik wants out, but the Hawks don't need him, so... Who's gone?
I think ATL getting Millsap means they are just going to let Smith go without a SnT...or maybe use it as leverage to get more from us then planned. Why pay Asik there to be the backup...or Millsap...whose going to be the backup in that lineup...I don't get it.
Hawks don't need Asik? I personally think it would be a perfect fit. Move Horford to PF and run Milsap off the bench.
Do we not need to agree to a S&T to get him? We can't sign him outright, he has to be traded if we want him. But by Utah signing Milsap, Josh Smith is 100% gone one way or another.
Actually, with Milsap in to play next to Horford, I don't think Atlanta wants Asik. Plus, their cap space they would have used to sign and trade Smith is gone -- so, even if we do end up with Smith, it means we will have traded Asik and Lin to team(s) with cap space (which are quickly evaporating by the way) for picks and then signed Smith outright. I was pretty sure about Smith to Houston, but now I don't know. Just looking at the logistics, I think Morey is going to go another route. Should be interesting.
In Morey we Trust. After Dwight, I am not worried at all about our next moves. And I have no doubt that they are coming. I think Morey has had this all planned for a long time, and it's all coming to fruition. The dominoes are all falling into place. If not Smith then another move will happen that will make us just as happy. This is a good day to be a Rockets fan, and I haven't felt that in a long time. And we have Morey to thank for it.
Three team deal is an option, or Lin is gone. I just have this feeling that everyone was waiting on Dwight to make a move, and now that he is, Morey can move on to the next phase in his plan, and that is bringing in Josh Smith. He had to have known this was coming.
Hey guys, I'm a little ignorant on the Cap space but when can we start going over into luxury tax territory? How does the signing space for that work? Does it have anything to do with why teams go for Sign and Trades? A bit ignorant on that part so sorry.
