Convenient. I was curious to see your responses based on your previous made up answers but I understand that you probably didn't have any.

what we need is a player who will completely dominate his position and play well with our guys.

Our next big acquisition MUST be able to dominate his position on a multitude of levels. I don't care about how many minutes our rookies are going to get if we get a player of that magnitude.

It's going to be a moot point. There's no point of worrying about our rookies if they're going to be bench players for the next few years, anyway. Our weakest position right now is the PF position, in no way am i comfortable with giving that position up to a young buck who doesn't have the experience necessary to contribute to a team fighting to become a contender and beyond.

Play our rookies for now, develop them, but don't for a second think that Al Jefferson is the answer--when there are obviously a lot of better pieces out there, including Josh Smith.

    HA

Completely dominate his position? Josh Smith has never made an All-NBA team or even been an all-star. It's a complete exaggeration to say that he dominates his position.

This whole time, you've been saying that Josh Smith works well with our current roster. I disagreed b/c if we acquired Josh Smith, it would be at the expense of our valuable rookie PF's (by taking away their minutes).

I'm glad you were finally able to realize that I was right.

Yep, he was able to win not through sound arguments, but by relentless stupidity.

You're well on your way to winning in the same manner.

    Congratulations to both of you.

Josh Smith is the only exception to my point. He is the only piece that fits within the confines of how we play.

If we're not getting him, at least get someone worthy. Al Jefferson isn't even in the same breath as a Kevin Love, Lamarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard.

Dude. You are using assumptions as facts.

No wonder Gmoney was cleaning the floor up with you. You were amusing but now you have gotten pathetic.

No, because Smith hasn't trained with anyone of Hakeem's credibility. Also, my "emotional projection" has nothing to do with this. Its a fact that Josh Smith is heavily dependent on his athleticism. That type of player is more prone to injuries and breaking down. The likelihood that this could be his last big contract is very possible. So, why wouldn't he want to get the most money he can?

I've never said that he wouldn't be willing to play for less than the max. I'm just stating that he is going to want the most that he can get and who can blame him? Its a business. My worry is more with what the market will set for him and how that affects the Rockets. If the market places him at 12-14 mil per year. Is that a gamble worth taking by the Rockets? Or would it be better for Houston to pass and wait for say a proven All Star. Or use that money to make their bench stronger while developing DMo and TRob?

The goal here is obviously title contention. Do you feel that Josh Smith puts this team in that position? The only "emotional projection" I have is that I don't feel that he does.

Josh Smith definitely and with a strengthened bench makes us a contender.

As we are, the fact that we can only play one way, it will prove to be our downfall.
Josh Smith would make our "one way" of playing, DEADLY, and fearsome to other teams.

The only reason to go another route and change our system would be if we could get a bonafide star at that PF position who could stretch the floor and has the capacity and skill set to dominate that position.

As I have said, and riddled all over this thread, Josh Smith is the only exception to changing our system--because of his abilities.
