Josh Smith isn't worth it unless there's also Dwight, the biggest value Smith has is that he's basically the perfect physical model of what you want to match up on Lebron (sure nobody can stop lebron, but preventing him from doing what he wants whenever he wants can help), elite defender with similar physical attributes. But there would be absolutely no point of that since without Dwight there would be no chance of ever getting that far.
Assuming this lineup... Beverley Harden Parsons Smith Asik Positives 1) Very good transition offense. 2) Improve from mediocre defense to VERY good. 2 Elite defenders (Asik and Smith), 2 Good (Parsons and Beverley) and one average (Harden). Questions 1) Have we fixed our half court offense problems? This is the question we all have. Will Josh Smith improve our half court? Honestly I'm not sure, but what I do know is that adding Smith wouldn't be Morey's last move. Llull is Morey's long term target for the PG slot, and perhaps that would be an upgrade over what we have now. Another poster reminded me that Morey tried to trade for Smith at the deadline. I had completely forgotten about that. If he was willing to make a trade, why wouldn't Morey sign him for no cost other than cap room? I believe Smith will be a rocket come July, and I trust Morey to continue to build this team into a contender. One last note. Smith coming in almost guarantees a few of our PFs will be traded. I imagine Morey will do a little showcasing, and then send out Smith and TJones for picks.
