This man has been shooting 38% from the field. I understand he was big for us last year but with Capela's emergence and DMO coming back not sure we have the mins for him. The best case scenario is you trade Tjones for him straight up.
Because Smith isn't that bright. He was hurt that the Rockets wouldn't give him some of Brewer's and KJ's money. So he took less to go to LA.
Having Josh Smith on this team this season would've been a disaster. His dumb play would've only compounded the team's struggles so far this season. Look at how bad Brewer has been for proof. He can stay where he's at.
I would hope too, but I think that there is zero chance that cuban allows him to clear waivers at the league minimum. There may be other GMs too, many others in fact, having seen what he meant to the Rockets in last years playoffs. Then you get into, if he clears would return here? I'm on record as being a fan of him on the Rockets. In fact, I think I will do naked somersaults from here to Toyota Center if we get him again.
Because LA is a nicer city to live than Houston, especially if you are rich. He won't admit it, but that's most likely why he bailed, and he even took less money, so blaming Morey is ridiculous. With that out of the way, it's over. Bringing him back isn't the answer. Getting another lights out shooter and/or a legit four is the answer. D-Mo's back might flair up or Beverly's percentages might start to drop, and what then?
What legit 4 is available that can be had without giving up a major piece(s)? Our best bet is to trade Jones for Smith and hope DMo can stay healthy and use Smith when he's on.
Would it actually be possible to bring him back? Don't teams have to wait a year before resigning a former player, or is that only if traded or waived?
Smith is getting the vet min on a one year contract and has proven to be quite durable, so it's not like it would take much to get him, plus he plays a position of need. Like last year, there are not many players who can bring what Smith brings for what it would cost to get him. I do wonder if the Clips would even consider trading him back to us, in light of last season's playoff series, though :grin::grin:
he left because he felt the Clippers were the better team going forward. jet said a similar thing in that he would have went back to the Mavs if DeAndre was going there.
Getting Smoove back would be epic but its not going to happen. Even if he is bought out Dallas will jump all over him for the min. Def miss him
Smith Rebounds and Defends. Two things the Rockets sorely need. Sometimes players can play well in certain situations and poorly in others. Our system just fits Josh Smith.
http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...t-fit-in-rockets-new-rotation-so-he-moved-on/ Idk how the rockets could be so dumb. After all the clutch stuff he did and his defense alone they couldn't tell him what his role would be?. Plus i would be a little pissed to if kj was getting more cash when smith single handly won the WCF for the rockeys Smith has some issues but dude is a solid player who can hit jumpers and has great defense and passing. He should of been the starting pf or main back up with solid minutes Can you imgine the ty Lawson Josh smith team up?. Would of been more similar to Kenneth faried
What I don't understand is did Rockets trainers and staff know that Dmo was going to be out this long? Did they know that DH was not going to play B2Bs? Because if they did know and still let Smith go, then it was a gamble as we would have been very thin at the 4 & 5 which ended up being exactly the case.
