Do you know what Smith's max is ? I don't know what it is but I personally don't think of him as a max player , close but not max.

If I'm not mistaken his 2012 salary will be 13,000,000, and if a max increase offer is 105% then a max contract for him signing as a UFA would be 13,650,000 with annual increases of Up to 8%.

Moved from SF from PF after Hawks learned he sucked at shooting.

He can.play sf but to this point he has only been most effective as a pf. Although like an earlier poster said
...a stretch pf that can move and shoot would allow him to play sf ...that I would do in a heartbeat ...

    Lin
    Lee
    Smith
    Dmo
    Howard

I would think we would have a top 5 front court ....

Smith needs shooters to balance out his lack of shooting at the sf spot ....but he could play sf...its no different than saying r.white can play sf as well ....j.Smith >r.white

I think so too, I'd love to see that front court play. Of course if we're choosing a preferred lineup next year I'd rather have

    CP3
    Lee
    Parsons
    DoMo
    Howard

    But

    Lin
    Lee
    Smith
    DoMo
Howard .... Would be a good second option too I think

Just thinking about what the goal for next year would be if we got Howard and who we could pair with him in free agency.

He's just a forward like the old days. Larry Nance,Larry Bird,James Worthy,Cornbread Maxwell all played forward. When Daughtery,Nance, nad williams played on the frontline, who was the sf? When Bird and Maxwell played together, who was the 3. X-Man and oakley played together alot too,yet x-man played the 4 at other spots. It really doesnt matter.

He can't shoot and he has no post moves.

    Call him whatever you want.
