Josh Smith stayed behind in Dallas with his buddy Rondo.

Not sure who that is wearing #5 out there. Maybe his brother Zosh Smith.

he's too much of a risk. yes, there are nights when he plays great and people love him for it, but there is just too much swing in his performance and we cannot afford that in the playoffs. i mean when he sucks, he destroys the momentum for the team and is a huge liability. i don't care that sometime he plays great and makes up for it, that's not important. in the playoffs, EVERY SINGLE GAME matters and we just basically have to gamble with him and hope he doesn't have one of those awful nights. we really can't have that. so overall, i'm all for letting him go after this season.

He's TRASH on both ends of the court. You can tell he has a loser mentality. Gives up way too easy.

I was watching the feed of Game 2, provided by the.download thread, and I noticed at halftime Smith just shot long 2s from the corner. From the same spot.

Anyone know if that's what he always does? Doesnt make any sense, considering that's exactly what they told him not to do in games...

Josh Smith can stay away next year, what a soft mental midget that guy is.

We are going nowhere without Smoove guys. Can't bench him. He has to play major minutes. Even if he is sucking. He's the only big we got besides Dwi gut that is capable of making a difference on Blake. Just gotta let him play through his slump.

No he doesn't. There's no reason to give him major minutes playing the way he's been playing this series. Hes been hurting you more than he contributes. His decision making has been terrible, his shots, and defense. He looks pretty lost in this series

Maybe I didn't watch the same game because I thought Josh had a horrible game. The team as a whole played worse when he was in the game.

Not to mention he gives the weakest screens of all time. It is frustrating to see CP3 or any one of their guards get very good close screens yet Josh slips the screen every damn time.

Josh Smith doesn't have the same advantages this series that he had vs. the Mavs and an older immobile Dirk. As a result, he has often reverted back to "Bad Josh Smith."

He has a much harder time beating Griffin (and Barnes) into the paint and trying to finish around Jordan. His jump shot has also regressed to (and probably below) the mean. On the defensive end, his length, athleticism, and smarts that worked so well to bother Dirk most of the time isn't nearly as effective against Blake Griffin, who is simply playing at an elite level that an older Dirk can no longer reach.

I don't get too worked up over Smith's struggles. Can any of us really be surprised? Josh Smith's strengths and weaknesses are well-known. These very pronounced weaknesses are the reason why he was even available to become a Rocket in the first place.

His poor shot-selection and decision making are well-documented. The thing that's bothered me the most about him is just his lackadaisical style of play. Everything he does out there is half-assed. Every screen, rebound, and drive. His transition defense and pick and roll defense is terrible. We need to let him go.
