Will miss the woos, his swagger, the spectacular catches at the wall and his accurate arm.

    Best wishes Josh.

Should we welcome him to the Skeeters?

He was a fun player to have. As a wrestling guy, I loved the Woooo and the championship belts. He was exciting on defense, made great catches, occasionally hit the monster HR. His offense hit the skids in the playoffs the last couple of years, but his clutch hit off Kimbrel in '17 in the 8th inning with the game tied is an all-timer. He had a great run here.

Fun story, Halloween 2018 some friends of mine live in his neighborhood and when their kids knocked on his door to trick or treat, he opened the door and handed out autographed baseball cards of himself (the cards were of him on the A's, not the Astros lol).

A very good question that was the first thing that popped in my head.

That at bat against boston was intense.

Maybe with Springer and Brantley being free agents he was hoping to get another contract offer from Houston. But with more players about to hit the market, he decided he needs to move on before he's no longer needed by other teams as well. Or Click told Reddick he might be interested in bringing him back depending on other players(can Click sign Brantley, Puig, JBJ aka you're my backup plan if I can't sign anyone) so perhaps Reddick told his agent to not look for contract offers from other teams for the time being. But now with more players hitting the market, he needs to make sure he has a job next year so decided no more waiting for Click, time for his agent to talk with other teams.

Maybe he’s looking into going to Japan to play for a few years. I know his wife mentioned about that before. Either way, no surprises that he’s not coming back. Love the guy and his defense but his bat has been terrible since 2017 playoff.

Gonna miss Josh for sure. Was hoping to bring him back on a veteran minimum type of deal...who knows, maybe that could still be in play as the market and years develop. Never forget that he was the first “big fish” FA to sign with Houston in a good decade or so (not to mention we were pretty low on players’ radars and FA lists at the time) when he did sign here. 4y/52m spent well IMO. He was instrumental in helping change the culture and has obviously been an integral part of our success. Most importantly, he wore Houston on his chest with pride and would do so loudly and vibrantly. He played the game the right way and his name should not be slandered. I don’t care that he slightly underperformed the latter 2 years of his deal, he’s a ‘Stro for life and should receive nothing but praise upon his returns.

    Just above .700 OPS

I would say a bit below average (isnt .740 or so average?), not terrible.

Maybe they meant in the playoffs? Reddick's been terrible in every series for the Stros since 2018 (where he was average). In our two World Series, he had a .454 OPS, and in our 4 combined ALCS, his OPS was .432. Not sure you could find a guy with 227 combined playoff ABs who's done worse overall in the postseason. You have to imagine whoever his replacement is, could beat those numbers.

    Now THAT IS terrible.

But, I would like to remember his successes more than his failures in this thread like his .847 OPS (regular season) in 2017.
