Pallilo was my favorite. All sports, no nonsense, no baloney calls. People saying he was negative need to look at what he's been watching the last 5 years. Astros and their 100 loss seasonsssss. Rockets falling apart, he was really happy to talk about the big playoff push 2 years ago. Texans 2-14 season followed by mediocrity and the same ol' same ol'..... yeah. He was real about it. He also was able to speak with authority on basically any subject, any team, any sport. To go from that, even if it wasn't your thing....to the Skip Bayless school of "say anything that causes a reaction" is a joke. Innes is the reason I don't listen to 610 anymore. Wasn't even aware that he had been fired but he was so bad I didn't listen to ANYONE on 610 lol....goes to Philly and says racist things. Smart guy there. Now comes back and is handed the drive home show? Well deserved when the ratings spike for one week and everyone remembers why they hated the guy to begin with. Anyone have a line to Pallilo, what comes next for him? Good golly, I hope it's Astros commentary replacement for Bill Brown. He and Blum would be a fan-freaking-tastic duo.

The only way 790 can save face on this is if they hired this idiot simply to get the satisfaction of firing him on air. Won't happen though, so I can't see tuning into 790 anymore unless there's a game on.
I still say Palillo was on the negative side, Mr. "Reasonable Negative", don't-know-why-you-can't-see-that radio guy. But overall he was heads above a lot of these guys. 790 must be really hardup for ratings to replace him with a grenade thrower like Josh Innes. Nothing like rewarding douchery with a paying gig.
Palillo was a cranky, boring, overly pessimistic, miserable little know-it-all, but at least he wasn't a walking fart joke.

And judging by the comments, also seems like most are ok with Palillo being gone (because he was too negative or whatever reason(s)) but don't care for/like his replacement.
I hope Innes doesn't pull the whole, SORRY GUYS, I'M HUMBLE NOW, I'VE LEARNED, BS, then devolve back into the exact same trashcan. At least own that you suck. Either way, wont listen. But, y'all let me know how it goes. The sad part is, the story about CP leaving is getting lost, instead you're just hearing the - WE HATE INNES - storyline. Again, CP wasn't my favorite guy, but he was quality and deserved better.
Yeah, like I said in the other thread. I liked Charlie more than I disliked him. But I can't say that I'm going to miss him. I turned him off mid sentence last week during his tirade on BoB and how cranky he gets with the media. Charlie seemed all butt heart and up in arms over Coach saying that him calling the offensive plays wasn't a story. I can see how one could disagree with that, but Charlie went ape shiit over nothing really. Interesting that the last time I'll hear Palillo's voice on the air was right before I turned him off for being annoying. I guess I wasn't the only one.
I mentioned this earlier, Charlie was given every opportunity to make his own bed and he did. The real story is 790 management bringing in Innes. It's a clear sign of a losing team's desperate hailmary attempt before more heads roll over there at 790. They are scared, out of time, and doing stupid things as a result. Instead of scouring smaller markets for real talent they grab the lowest hanging recycled trash and already it's biting them in the ass. It's well deserved.
We already know the series of events that led to Innes' departure from Philly. Just have to get some fake racist calls to 610 then have him go off on that.
I haven't listened to sports radio for any meaningful stretch of time since the Mario/VY/Bush debacle, but this is my take as well.
WTF? It took me like 10 years to grow to like charlie and now I find out they fired him? was it because he called Reed FAAAAATT? Can't believe that douche keeps getting hired. He is like a homeless man's jeff fisher of radio, only jeff fisher was likable at one time
Josh Innes was last here in 2010?? Jesus, was that really 6 years ago?? It feels like it's only been like 2-3 years tops. Wow, time flies.
That actually turned me onto Josh, Morey wanted a tough question, even asked for it. Innes obliged, he didn't sound arrogant or mean at all there. If anything Lord did at first.
Absolutely terrible decision. I admit I am partial to CP. I've been a huge fan for years. I listen to Josh Innes when he was here, it's very little substance, he just runs his mouth about his private life most of the time, then throws in a few troll comments about the local teams. Someone could start a nice station up with Adam Wexler, Matt Jackson, & CP. That is some of the better hosts this town has ever had.
Darn, I can just hear CP saying "homie don't play dat". They should have let CP where he was and stuck that new hack on after 7pm.
To anyone saying Pallilo was pessimistic I ask again....what did he have to hype up? 100 loss Astros seasons? Kubiak, 2-14, obriens QB parade? The rockets maligned superstars and a gigantic collapse? What was he supposed to do shine up turds and tell you it was just a fancy new potpourri?
"Negative realist"... Last season he predicted the Rockets would only lose 3 games by Christmas. I think he was just a "realist". (He got suckered by Lawson too) As he often said it's no fun if we all agree, some like vanilla some like chocolate, so I know his NY roots turned off many, and his expansive knowledge scared some. Truth is he's a great Houstonian, always props the city, actually a friendly guy to talk with just don't except to say things like last week "Brock is a great QB..." CP-"Uh-NO! He's not a great QB, come on." Charlie always made callers check themselves and that made some people think he was arrogant. I personally like it.
