Jalen strikes me as the kind of guy who NEEDS a strong, mature group of people around him in order to really succeed. Otherwise he's just going to end up like Christopher.

Well if you combine him playing with Jr USA(or whatever it is called) and being touted as high level HS prospect pretty sure his buddy list consist of Holmgren/Banchero etc There is always a major risk when drafting any HS player in the lottery(outside Bron) Brunson and plenty others who are of his mold went on to be solid NBA contributors and became quasi-stars, just like many with JG4 natural talent ability(combined with skill) has went on to become superstars or high end annual all stars

Guards that can't shoot are always replacableable. Only way he will ever have a career in the NBA is if he embraces defense and becomes a + Wing defender. He has the athletic profile to do that but he hasn't showed effort and focus on that side of his game.
I agree. He needs to go to Europe and mature on and off the court. Crazy that we passed on Quinten Grimes for this dude who is out of the league before the end of his first contract.
If he gets picked and released again THEN we can pick him up. Or wait a year of nobody picking him up.
It's really interesting now that we expect 20-21 year Olds (the age green played last year) to be at max maturity and their current majority as what they will be their entire career.
