Maybe more, but I think any visions of stardom are long gone, not that most of us had that vision to begin with. He had a.560 OPS over an 86 game period this year, it came right after the collision with Paredes, and he has had nagging injuries. Not to mention the death of his grandmother. I don't really think these were major factors his slump, but they may have been. His fielding this year has been much better, still sub-par, but not a train wreck by any means. If he can manage to repeat last years offensive numbers he would be a very good 2B, last year he also had a bad 2nd half, but not nearly as bad as the slump this year. Next year will be very telling. I think he is ultimately just a guy, a capable and very replaceable MLB player nothing more, but I hope I'm wrong.
I didn't remember this thread. He was pretty much our lone all star for a few years. I didn't remember he got this much hate. His base running is still suspect, but boy can he hit.
Since I started the thread, I ended it with "I sure hope he turns it around". Not only did he turn it around he's turned into a HOF player and one of the most clutch players in MLB history!!!
I can't begin to imagine the amount of will and determination for that man to get to where he is today
