He is not a finished product, the title was about celebrating how well he was playing.

In Jordan's defense Scola, much like Landry, isn't very good passing out of double teams and Orlando's double team schemes are based on Howard coming over to help, no matter who he is guarding.

I know this because I've only missed about five Magic games in the last 3 years. (yes, I watch way too much basketball...)

I'm sorry this is just silly. Last night was one of Hill's better defensive performances. What you are doing now is blaming the entire team lack of defense entirely on Hill.

This is like saying Demeco Ryans sucks on defense while Kareem Jackson trips and the WR runs right past both safeties for a TD.

Hill did his job last night.

But i'm not surprised. You are hoping for Hill to fail. I don't understand some fans.

How many projects do we need on this team? Yeah, Hill shows flashes of being something special ...at times. But we have T. Williams, Ish, Paterson, Hill; not to mention that Bud and Courtney Lee are still developing. I guess my point is that I think we have too many roster spots occupied by raw, inexperienced players; granted, with plenty of upside, but they all have a long way to go to get consistent minutes on a "good" team. We really need to bundle and trade; consolidate. Way too many risk/ reward players, very little consistency.

Well.... Better to have a slim-chance-to-be-someone than a never-has-been. I would prefer the Rockets to be able to consolidate...but so do the fans of the __________(insert any team name.)

One on one defense has never been his biggest problem. He is decent at that, as long as the opponent isn't skilled and just as long as him- Lamarcus Aldridge. Against Dwight, who is a raw low post scorer, Hill did defend him well.

What I am referring to is what his problem has always been- team defense. Something that actually requires a brain, unlike simply sticking your hands straight up in 1on1. Team defense requires all 5 guys to work as a unit, not one link can be broken. Its ok if you aren't the greatest 1on1 defender because there will be help, and the help will have help. Unfortunately Hill is a broken link. This is why our defense is so much better with Hayes or even Patterson in, with the same other guys.

So is Scola getting beat off the dribble from the 3pt line Hill's fault? No. But neither is that Scola's fault, because there should be help filling in behind him. Failing to fill in IS Hill's fault.

I can assure you, I am not hoping for Hill to fail. And I apologize if my anger at him gets the best of me at times and I say something unwarranted. I would not hope anyone on the team fails because their success will lead to the success of the team.

However. What I hope or do not hope has zero bearings on reality. And the reality is he IS failing. And I am simply an observer and commentator since so many fans seem to be mesmerized by a "potential" that is not there. That they are blinded to what is actually happening on the court.

Imagine to yourself for a moment, Jordan Hill is not a Rocket but a Knick. He is 23 years old and his numbers are all down from already pathetic numbers the year ago. He looks completely clueless on the court on both ends. Do you think people here would still be so high on him? Do you think the OP would still think he is THE MAN? Would your opinions be a little different?

Take off your homer glasses and watch him through the lens of reality. Then you'll see what I've been seeing all along.

You talking about people wearing homer glasses is funny. You should take off the Jim Rome glasses.

When you are not being outrageous, you are pretty good. It's almost like you are trying to avoid sounding intelligent.

It was a bad day for him, Brooks and Hill played well, thus he won't be with us today.

He was garbage in NY and still...garbage in Htown. Im glad he's just a throw in as part of a deal. Great job drafting Patterson, this guy stomps all over Hill seriously.

I am sick of Jordan Hill. I'd rather Ishmael Smith play center because at least he'll try.

I mean if this guy was drafted as a late second rounder I'd understand. As the 8th pick? BUST. He has no vision, no rythm, and a horrid turn around jumper. His timing is horrible, am I the one who only notice that when Hill is open, he would most of the time wait to be covered before making his move?

Wow, I almost missed this one. If you think Jordan Hill had a good game in Boston then you are truly delusional. A couple of dunks and putbacks do not make up for the season long futile effort and consistent break downs on both ends of the court. In fact it doesn't even make up for the break downs in that particular game.

He did not have a good game then just like he did not have a bad game tonight. Well, it was a bad game by human standards. But for Jordan Hill, he is really simply settling into this level of production. Who says he isn't consistent?

I hope so. He had a good game against the Lakers when he shut Gasol down and he had an equally good game some time after as well. I just cant remeber who it was, but he shut down their big man that night as well.
    And now the Boston game.

Thats 3 good games out of how many? During the rest of his time there has defeinitely been more downs than ups.

And it obvious he cant play the 5 very well. People are saying he is wasted at the 5 because PF is his natural spot. Well, we have Scola and Patterson at the 4. So unless Hill can play some 5 which he cant, then he is USELESS.

Are you CRAZY?!? Hill had 0 points and 1 rebound in only 17 minutes tonight against that balding European dude on the Thunder. At 38 minutes per game, that would be an average of 0 points and 2 rebounds!

Seriously, Hill hasn't peaked yet, but I can't see his peak as being anywhere near high enough to sink a lot of minutes into. If I were Morey and I couldn't trade Hill, I'd send him to the D-League and let him burn up some court time there while learning to play.

I remember reading that he didn't start playing organized ball until relatively late in high school, and it really shows. Despite all that athleticism, he has very little feel for the game. Patterson should be getting those minutes, because he actually has the talent to be a solid contributor on a contender one day.

Every single post you made regarding Hill is "The truth and nothing but the truth". Every point you made has been displayed by Hill on the court. You have described him so perfectly.

Jordan needs to stop thinking and play HARD. He is not a great player, but he can be a very, very good one, IF HE JUST PLAYS HARD! GET IN THE ACTION.

SEND HIM DOWN TO THE DLEAGUE AND FORCE HIM TO DOMINATE BEFORE YOU BRING HIM BACK UP!
