...and MJ admits to stealing Dr. J's.

    that's not an argument.

They're alot closer than people are willing to admit.

If you have a favorite player that you are partial to, you used biased decision making, and you are a bit delusional, then you'll fall into the catetory of one of those people who actually think someone is better than Michael Jordan. No reason to debate with these types of people. My favorite player of all time is Dream. But I'd never ventrue to say that he was "better" than Michael Jordan. Jordan is the greatest of all time. Period.

The Kobe lovers think Kobe is better, the dream lovers think dream was better than Jordan, and you have this one guy, on this very board (Drexlerfan22), who thinks Clyde freaking Drexler is a better basketball player than Michael Jordan. That one takes the cake.

MJ has nicer shoes and convinced millions of people that paying over $100 for a pair of sneakers will make them better at basketball and be more popular at school.

kobe NEVER EVER EVER did that

There is no God but Dream, and Michael Jordan is His Prophet.

yeah, you know, the Rocket fans of today (which are like 50% real fans) don't even care to know about their history. Yeah, that guy #45 got humiliated by Nick Andersen (oh he was tired..excuse coming..-he was training the whole time to come back.. they lost cause they had no front line help (aka rodman) vs Orlando. jordan was there in 95. I saw him play. jordan was there also in 86, but he didn't make the finals! :p

so when people joined clutchfans the ratio was like this:

    1999
    99% pure Rockets fans
    1% unpure

    2008
10% pure Rocket fans (don't worry wes, you're pure! :))
    40% yao fans
    40% tmac fans
10% bulls/mj fans ( i seperate the two cause the MJ fans are like Yao/Tmac fans, they don't know anything about their team.. i once had this conversation with an MJ fan, when I named the entire Bulls team and coaches and he couldn't name anyone except for Phil and Pippen, and he was wrong cause Doug Collins was the coach then)

This is my proof that brainwashing and evil exists. and that nike is partially to blame.

haha so true. I don't think they'll ever be another shoe brand that captivated an entire era.

The Air Pennys were some of the greatest BB shoes Nike created and marketed. They even outsold Jordans for a period of time. So that arguement shouldnt be there. Jordan>Kobe, and thats a non fan boi talking.

on top of that, the "Like Mike" gatorade song is permanently stuck in people's heads.

plus I like Mike whenever he plays the Rockets, it always pretty a guaranteed W for the Rockets! Thanks Mike!

Its like MJ built a multi million dollar company from nothing. He retires and Kobe is his son that went to college to learn how to run the family business.

The fact that people even seriously discuss him in the same sentence as MJ is a huge deal. There's nothing he can do to ever convince anyone that he is as good as MJ was, NOTHING. My opinion is that they are much closer than people think.

There will come a time when all of us who watched MJ play are too old to care like with Big O and Wilt Chamberlain. They've done some things that MJ never came close to doing. No use discussing different eras, there's no way to no for sure who's better or not.

The older generation had to face segregation. so yeah, whatever people say about tmac or yao etc, those guys never had to face death threats or being treated as second class citizens.

i'll never diss the older generation.

big difference between dissing and comparing skill. You can't do either when it comes to good players, though.

Trust that when Yao is retired there will be people saying that Bynum is better than he ever was. Even if they're right, the ones who grew up watching him play won't ever agree to it.

Where the Egyptians who created the pyramids smarter than us, who knows? You'll never know. Different time periods. Relativity. Ya underdig?

I know you read this board . you know for sure that the older generation has been dissed big time by the newer fans.

A stupid Tmac fan said that Tmac in Orlando was better than a prime MJ, Dream, or Magic. I mean the lack of NBA knowledge and respect is beyond is sad.

my favorite Tmac joke I use is that the best Tmac Rocket's moment was when he lead the Orlando Magic in scoring. -just for the r****d fans who keep licking his Orlando days

    Artest on jordan:

Ron Artest says, "He's still Michael Jordan. But I broke two of his ribs!!"

Man at this point i'd take Ron Artest over Chuck Norris.

I dont know if you're a sneaker head or not, but I read along time ago where he was the best selling shoe for Nike in his prime, I didn't say he outsold Jordan for a long period of time, just that Penny had a lot of marketing and technology behind his line. Look at any shoe collector and why Nike has yet to fully release the Foamposites or some of his other lines. 10 years later, injuries and all, and Penny still has a cult following. His shoes were some of the best Nike created. I have a few pair of J's but some of his sneakers were subpar. Its a toss up for me between the foamposites and Jordan XI.

Kobe just never had a decent design that made me want to buy any of his shoes.
