See, most people would assume that this means that he is going to be a backup for the entirety of his career.
My prediction is that, if we were playing a whole season, he'd be somebody's #8 player by the playoffs. If he never goes beyond that, it won't be so bad, especially if he can play backup Center. And, if he becomes a decent backup center for some other team, we'll regret letting him go.
