That's part, but I think Hill being out hurt us too... McHale even said as much in an interview, he said usually when the team is rebounding badly he throws Jordan in, and he is good for 8 RBs.
During and after the game against New York this year, something seemed to click in Jordan Hill. Can't wait to get the big guy back.
Jordan Hill is one of those guys who are like Tmac/Yao Ming right before the end...he's not that great but his usefulness to the team is better than his trade value. He's the type of guy who seems to improve with good coaching, in college he went from college scrub to college standout in just a couple of years, I think he can be starter quality if he had 1 training camp with Mchale. Its just too bad we don't have Cs, I think he'll be very effective at his natural spot instead of being forced to play out of position. DM didn't extend his contract on the off chance we might need every bit of capspace but I'm pretty sure if we don't need to use every single $ we'll be brining back Jordan Hill.
Jordan Hill is definitely a serviceable big coming off the bench. He can give any team a solid 15-20 mpg every night.
Because of the new CBA rules, Hill could potentially sign for the MLE (two years at $2.5M) if no other team bids that much, without hurting our cap space. I'd say it's 50/50 whether another team would outbid us. Must have been a very tough choice whether to exercise his option.
On Twitter he said that he's back going full contact practice. So I would assume he probably will be back in action after the road trip. So Wed. the 14th at the latest. He's traveling with the team though so could be tomm or Tuesday at the earliest.
Glad to see the board coming around on JHill, people get down on him but you could see the production and rebounding from him on a nightly basis. And he is playing out of position, if he was playing PF he would look even better. DD
