Hill could absolutely start at center for the Rockets. Other than Dwight there are no dominant centers in the league. The only other dominant post players are PF's. There really isn't a big man that Hill can't stick, hes athletic enough for sure to hang. Great performance tonight by Jordan.
Jordan Hill played big and if he continues to play this good regardless we still need a Center even if it's Samuel Dalambert or Haywood somebody physically big, tall with some sort of athleticism and toughness.
I said this a month ago: If the rockets can make playoffs this season, the biggest reason will be Jordan Hill.
What exactly is the difference between Samuel Dalembert and Jordan Hill? they both are skinny, tall, and athletic. And Jordan has a better offensive game.
He definitely needs to show more consistency. He can have a good game one night but next game he could be a non-factor. But what a great game by Hill. He should be starting.
I can see him at center if we had another taller or physically bigger PF next to him than Luis Scola. We dont though so he is a tad smaller than we need because of this. I like his game alot and yes he may develop to be worth more than some people are giving him credit for or playing time for that matter. I think he will be a double double every night eventaully and start to evolve into more of a shot blocker as his defense improves with more playing time. Unfortunately to Rick and few faithful? Chuck Hayes more playing time and his already maxed out potential is more important than getting Jordan Hill to that point faster...
Jordan Hill Should Start. No, really, the longer he is in the game, he turns it up a notch. It's obvious the way he shut Cousins down towards the end. If he would have started instead of Hayes, Cousins would not have scored as much. Shot-blocking and rebounding all up in Cousins face!! Not so funny now, is it Cousins? I bet he gets fined tomorrow for going off or something silly like that after the game. It was actually cool to see he was having fun. Poor kid. He thought they had a win. Love it.
Long, Tall Dude played well tonight. Possibly his best all around game as a Rocket if not his career.
He should start and get 30mpg. That center for the Warriors that we'll be playing tomorrow, Andris Biedrins, fouls a whole lot. As long as he's playing hard and we still have Miller & Hayes, I'm not too worried about Hill and his fouls. He'll learn more the more he plays.
Playing center long-term is a little iffy, but I don't think we know with any certainty how good he's going to be. At the very least, he will be a decent big. Decent center? near-all-star? Maybe. I don't think we really know.
