I agree. This guy can't hold Carl Landry's jockstrap. And those first round picks? Lets be real....we have NO idea where those picks will fall or who will be there. What? Some High School Junior? Blah....

Jordan Hill, at best, will be a poor man's Predator.

Morey didn't do the deal because he wants Hill. If the guy contributes anything it will be a bonus.

Dude your basketball IQ must be shot.

So your juding hill's future based on his Rookie campaign which he has barely played?

Any team would be lucky to have two consecutive first round picks from the Knicks

Okay, 2 years from now he will be a 24 year old with the same stats. 3 years from then he will be 27. For goodness sakes, the guy can't get run on a bad team.

First game, far too early to bring that up. All he needs is a good playoffs showing to justify the Mavs trading for him.

Assuming those picks pan out to where we want them. Play the percentages. What are the odds the Knicks will be bad those two seasons? And then, what are the odds those picks actually pan out? I know basketball. Very well. I played High School 4 years Varsity and played Division 1-a ball at TCU. Don't question my knowledge, buddy.

Playing in HS has nothing to do with being a knowledgable basketball person.

Anyways, I'd take the odds of Knicks being a lotto team especially if Lebron doesn't even leave CLE

People who are freaking out should look up the rookie stats of Alex English, Gary Payton, Jamal Crawford, Jeff Foster, Ricky Davis, and David West. These are the ones off the top of my head. I'm sure there are about 1,000,000 more. Should we have declared all of them busts after half a season?

In fact, maybe we should start a thread of guys who had crappy rookie years like Hill, who went on to become something between solid starters and all-stars. The list would be insanely long.

Really, no player drafted to the NBA has reached their full potential. Some are closer than others, and some have more natural talent than others, but everybody has to put in the work. The question is, is he serious enough and willing enough to put in the work. He pretty clearly has the talent.

They have been bad every year since the 90's. The odds are in our favor.

This. Please stop making it sound like Jordan Hill is being hyped as our "big acquisition." No one is doing that. The Draft picks are the central part of the trade. Hence it pending on whether the 2012 is unprotected or not.

This just in: Daryl Morey knows how to do his job better than us.

Like I said I also played at TCU. ;)
Anyway, you took a personal shot at me, so I had to respond. I know basketball, and maybe The NY Bricks will stick next year and thereafter....but has our once proud franchise reached the point to where we are counting on the success (suckiness?) of another team?

You do realize this is the internet, where I went to 2 NBA training camps, one for the Heat and one for the T-Wolves, before I was cut forcing me to grab got a couple of 10 day, $125 dollar contracts in the WNBA before I decided to call it quits and settle with becoming the #3 contender for the UFC's welterweight title.

Anyways, who says we have to keep those picks? The fact that we are aquiring 1st round draft picks gives us much more flexibility down the road, in terms of drafting or trading. 1st round draft picks, if high enough, or in quantities can land you some pretty high profile players
