He's an explosive and quick leaper , trust me. He's quick, fast and a good leaper. Probably not quite as explosive or strong as Amare but he's close

Smooth makes a good point, he doesn't seem to be going all out, more of an "In control" player.

We have yet to see him fight through a man and dunk it.....but hopefully that will come as he gains confidence.

Noticed the same thing... maybe with better awareness (and strenght), we'll see him finish above the rim- as his anticipation becomes better, he'll know how to react faster...

Watching Michael Beasley in games make me wonder why he doesnt finish more plays above the rim...

Yea, but I really like that he has one, it's always a mystery that it isn't the first thing a young post develops. Hill still needs a lot of work but the way he seemed to take to Houston and the skills he has flashed gets me excited about his future. In the near future I think theres a lot he can do within the offense as the first big off the bench. I thought Hill gave good energy on defense, but there is a lot of improvement to be had there, still I will be disappointed if I don't see him in a Rockets uni next year. He's the length/athleticism Rockets fans have been wanting for years and he happens to have a few other nice skills too.

I wish everyone would understand that giving away, Hill, Jeffries, and 2 1st round traffic picks for Bosh will hurt us in the long run. Hill in 3 Years has the ability to be what Bosh is now without the potential for injury.

I have no doubt that J.Hill can jump out of the building, but one thing stood out for me is that he seems to jump just enough to be able to dunk --- I have no problem with that, I dont know if its a common thing or not but plenty of extremely long guys seem to be just like that, they use just about enough energy to get the job done --- as long as hes comfortable with the way hes playing.

Don't worry guys, J.Hill was a good rookie, and he will be a lot better next year :)

I love his quick leaping ability and how he's able to finish over bigger players like Gasol, McGee, & Wallace(In the video). In addition to that, his spin move's, mid-range jumpshot and passing ability look very promising as well! Hopefully his been working on his hands, which was his biggest area of weakness.

All we need now is to get a legitimate back up center, via draft or FA to mesh with Jordan Hill of the bench...

Personally I feel Cousins(C) is that guy! His power and skill would mesh very well with Jordan's athleticism of the bench. Specially if Jordan develops that mid range jump shot, helping to spread the floor for Cousins....

So hopefully we can find a way to move up in the draft to get Cousins  !

Agreed. He is more athletic than average for a PF but I don't see the 35 inch vertical leap or the Amare-ish athleticism overall. People who keep comparing him to Amare need to put the pipe down.

He has a 35" MAX vertical and a 31" no step vertical, no running start = no max vertical.

You can say the same thing about Chase's 39 inch vertical, from seeing him play, but they are both capable of getting up that high. There just not players that feel they have to constantly put it in display, in other words they play under control.

Buddinger had shown more high flying dunks than Hill. Chase has an outside chance at Phi Slamma Jamma. Hill - no chance.

He is not as athletic as Amare, but he is a MUCH better rebounder and defender AS A ROOKIE...

I'll take it... He needs to develop that jumper and a counter post move to his hook.

yeah eventually players master one thing and it becomes nearly unstopable, hill's a rookie he's hungry and is showing signs of not being a bust like the knicks tought maybe just a role player as of right know. imo :)

yeah but no one knows the future, hill is a good rookie could grow to be a potential all star but trading him to pair 2 allstars (yao & bosh) potential hall of famers in the imediate future, comon you have to pull the trigger on that, i wish we didnt have to give him up but the raptors would want him for sure.

Is Jordan keeping the number 27 jersey for next year or is he going back to 43?

THIS is what we wanted Joey Dorsey to be. except it's much more. I see why GM's might want him. He's straight up raw still, but has a high amount of potential if that's him raw. This guy is a legit first-round player and we're lucky to have him.
