Time to get Kaman sooner rather then later. Or Fesenko?

This explains why McHale went small for most of the second half.

Dalembert was sucking and Thabeet is Thabeet.

... because he's the only one of the Rockets '09 lottery busts who actually plays on a team that is pretty militant about playing time to young guys. I didn't say he was valuable, but I would think something could be had for Hill, the player. If he's injured, he's just an expiring.

If Greg Smith comes up and does well in a backup role, then Hill has got to be toast.

How damning is it that Smith will likely get playing time over Thabeet?

Perception is everything when you think about trade value. Lowry is considered a near-all-star point guard right now. You hear about the Lakers wanting to trade Pau Gasol for him (even though we wouldn't take that deal)--that wouldn't have been considered before this season. He is good enough to be considered a centerpiece in a deal for a better player.

Parsons is a good young player. That's valuable. Maybe he becomes a part of a bigger trade, or maybe he is a longterm starter for us. Either way, he will develop into something that will help us down the road. He's getting valuable experience right now.

its pretty damning, but not any damning then it has been. I guess I have come to grip that ll of the 09 drafts we possess are "sunk costs". When your GM comes out and basically says that 09 players have been a disappointment, that's pretty much when I stopped paying attention to them. Any value is pretty much shot at that point.

I think Parsons has at least as much value as Chase now.

Even so, doesn't he seem like the kind of guy you want around for quite awhile? At minimum, a "glue guy" and defensive specialist. I think there's upside too ...a feel for the game...I believe he'll start taking and making those shots on a more regular basis. Either way, he is flourishing under Lurch.

Off to the RGV game tonight. Smith I heard will be called up by the Rockets. I was hoping to see him play tonight.

It means the Rockets believe that Thabeet is not any good.

I'd like to see them throw prospects like him out there for 4 or 5 games for 10 minutes to see what they have.

Thabeet must not be doing well on the practice court, but they haven't given him any chance in games. He has played 24 minutes total in a rockets uniform.

Of course you want to keep him--he's a good player on a great contract.

But we're not in a good enough position to be going after "glue guys." If he can be included in a trade for a great player, we have to do the deal. Our biggest problem right now is that we're not talented enough. We have to get a great player, then get pieces around him.

Man, just play Thabeet. Cant be no worst than Scola this year.

Whose no, maybe he can improve in these last three weeks befoer the trade deadline and become another team's fool's goal.

Yeah, but his PER has been dropping pretty steadily now. It was up around 24 ( I think ) over the first 10-15. Probably drop down closer to where it was last year by the end of the season. He was really ****ing tearing it up at the beginning of the season though. He definitely has value though.

As long as he's back in time to be an expiring contract to trade at the deadline thats all that really matters.... doesnt bring much anyways, rather see what Smith has...

Always bad to see guy goes down...Who is going to get the min now? Smith or thabeet? Trade? Or scola and Patterson getting those min? I personally would like to see us go with thabeet if he doesn't get it go with smith...I dont want us go small (scola or patt)

This is a blessing in a disguise for the Rockets. Time for a nice dosage of Thabeet and Greg Smith. I think Thabeet is gonna be fired up because he actually has something to prove.

I would be shocked to see thabeet play. You really have to be a bum when you're over seven feet tall and can't get a minute of meaningful play time. I wouldn't mind seeing him though.

Have they called up anyone officially yet?

Perhaps they will bring up Marcus since he plays PF as well?

Oh yeahh. Actually I'd rather see Thabeet get some pt first, he's got somethin to prove. Maybe up his value a bit with some blocked shots before deadline as well.
