I may be in the minority but I rather go through the growing pains of playing a young talented big in the hopes that by the end of the season he will be a major contributor than what is currently being put out there after Yao Ming sits down.
What? Jordan Hill hardly looked like Hakeem out there. (Well, compared to Chuck I guess he did actually.)
It's our perimeter D that's the biggest problem. We've gotten lit up 3 straight games from outside. AB isn't cutting it with Martin. Battier's defense hasn't been up to par. If this continues then the team needs a change.
The new rules mean PERIMETER D is everyone's problem. Help at the rim is our biggest problem by a long long margin. DD
I agree give him a chance. We need his athleticism. But, unfortunately Adelman has to appease and doesn't want to ruffle the feathers of players who have been playing in their positions for some time - Hayes and Battier. I wish we could have a coach with a George Steinbrenner-like mentality towards production and playing time. Rick is too loyal to certain players in that sense - to the detriment of the franchise.
I think he left this in Sacramento with Pete Carril, because unfortunately, I haven't seen this in Houston. I think this is just a misnomer like JVG's defense. JVG's defense really means ----> Tom Thibodeau's defense Rick Adelman offense really means ----> Pete Carril's offense
Yep, if he's open. Much more-so than Chuck, not as good as Scola. I agree, Hill needs to play. His quickness and athleticism can really help our defense. Chuck Hayes and Brad Miller should not be playing more than 15 minutes on any given night, depending on the matchup. Neither of these guys would be key rotation guys on true contenders, and we need to find out if Jordan Hill can be.
What happened to all the Hill-haters? I see that half the posters must have been banned. The most popular football player in town is always the backup quarterback.
It's not like people are wanting Jordan Hill to start. Just get more playing time instead of Hayes, Miller, and Jeffries.
Do you think Hill outplayed those guys in preseason? Do you think he's outplayed them in practice? Or does none of that matter?
To anybody who has watched Hill closely in preseason and the summer league: Have Jordan Hill's hands improved? Hill mishandled many quick passes last season, hence my query.
just got back from the game WTF is wrong with adleman i mean Jordan Hill got a block tonight and I guarantee you Hill would of had 3 easy dunks on those 3 missed lay-ups by chuck hayes.....and another thing way in the hell would you run plays for chuck hayes you have Scola on a streak manhandling Williams and you are going to run some plays for chuck hayes who is being guarded by a much faster defender in Harrington......Not smart Rick keep on makin these costly mess ups and you are going to end up next to clyde and bullard calling the game.....as for the game not really impressed with the atomsphere like past years i mean even the rowdies were quiet the best part was when that fan dunked it during the game of tic tac toe
I think it's unanimous, Hill should play more. Oh wait, there's still one doubter. His initials are RA.
His hands looked MUCH better in preseason this year, along with his flashes of having a solid post game and jump shot. His finishing and athleticism on D is what we need most at the moment.
