Everyone is assuming that LeBron/Wade/Bosh/Amare etc. will command the FULL max contract money, but I believe that they would be willing to take a paycut to sign with a contender. Houston, in my opinion, has the greatest chance of aquiring one of them due to the fact that they have several things going for them: 1. Play along side a healthy Yao 2. Play along side a group of proven vets such as Battier or Hayes and young guys such as Brooks, Budinger, or Hill. 3. Big Market in Houston 4. Work with Daryl Morey 5. Play in the city that Hakeem built. Ya'll would be crazy to think that at least one of them is not at least thinking about playing for the Rockets. If I were LeBron, Wade, Bosh, or Amare, you can also put Johnson in the mix, I would demand that I want to go to Houston by any means necessary, either by flat out signing with them, or through a sign in trade.
Miami is in the best spot. They have the bird rights to Wade. So they can sign anyone they want to pair with wade
Right. I guess, Boozer will end up signing with the Heat. As for Salt lake, they will draft a PF/C rookie with the 1st rd pick from NY. Perhaps, the only big name which NY may acquire is Rudy Gay.
They still run into the same problem - 2 near max FAs and Beasley, with a supporting cast of scrubs and league minimum players. I don't think they'll go after Boozer - Beasley is locked into their 4 position. Amare can slide to the 5 for them, Boozer can't.
He might be trade bait or he might not be. In any event, his ceiling is much higher than David Andersen's. Andersen is an okay player but we pretty much know what we're getting with him at this point. Personally, I'd rather see Hill getting those minutes but maybe that's just me.
If we can't land one of the free agents, then I would try to some way go after Al Jefferson or Carlos Boozer. Hoping we re-sign Scola and Lowry too. My dream lineup would be this if we cant get Bosh or Amare: Brooks Martin Ariza Jefferson or Boozer Yao
