Really, really disagree about Hakeem, who I've followed since he came to UH, but he does remind me of Emeka Okafor. Just needs to add some muscle. Hell, I'd take that! I'm dreaming, right?
He look really raw here.<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F5D_phze-7A&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F5D_phze-7A&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Well... when Hakeem first came to Houston, he was so skinny that the UH coaching staff put him on a BBQ and ice cream diet to gain weight. I was just looking at how long and agile he is, and I thought about Hakeem. Hakeem was a long, agile, quick human pogo stick who learned how to shoot.
Oh, I remember. Hill is nowhere in the remote vicinity of the whole skinniness thingy (not to mention the pogo-stick thingy, which he'll never have, among other things he'll never have that Hakeem had, IMO). He just needs to add about 10-15 lbs. of muscle. That, and a hell of a lot of skill. Fortunately, we should be able to work with that.
Yea Okafor would be a lot better of a comparison. A double double machine in the near future would be greatly appreciated.
Yep. People forget how Raw Yao was when he got here. I think Houston is literally the best place for young big men to go, I mean even Kobe came down here to work on his post game! That tells ya something!
And Bryant improved, which tells me that we need to hook up Dream and Hill ASAP. CD and the staff are also aces, of course, but Dream is The Master.
For those noobs on here who have never seen Hill play in Arizona or followed him closely, and only judging him based on some random highlights or workout videos as some raw, unskilled, or in some cases, according to some idiots, UN-athletic (????)- JUST SHUT UP. These are the same people who said the same thing about Chase, and probably the same thing about Landry when he first arrived here relatively average athletically. Just know this:
These kids don't remember Hakeem if they are trying to compare Jordan Hill to him. Hakeem was just simply on another level, and I always say that he's the best center I've ever seen play. (Yes, over you Shaq.)

Yep, I say send him to Hakeem ASAP. Not only that, look at who he has to go against and learn from in practice. Not David Lee lol. Who Knick fans seemingly dislike for his softness... He'll be going against Scola for the most part, and his skills will be tested going against Hayes in practice.
Agreed. Adelman's staff is also top notch, but the bonus is that with vets like Yao, Battier and Scola, we have on-court coaches. This kid could blossom and we may not miss Carl for long.
Maybe, he just worked out in the weight room with a trainer the first time. Feigan mentioned that the new guys haven't had a practice, yet.
I am dying to see what Jordan Hill is capable of doing. But it is never a good sign for any NBA franchise to give up on a lottery pick that quickly. Let's just hope that he is not another Stromile Swift.
