Hill is physically gifted. He is big, long and athletic. Only time, hard work, and dedication will determine his career. But he have the potential to be a good PF in this league. He is still in the learning process but he will eventually come into his own one day.

I understand you are getting at? I guess I do not see basketball as brain surgery.

This kid looks like a STUD in the making. All he needs are minutes! Give it 2 seasons and he'll make everyone forget about Carl Landry. He's bigger, more athletic, has a knack for rebounding (esp. on the offensive end), and looks like he's a got a great offensive game that will continue to develop!

If Hill looks good in the summer do the Rockets still draft a PF? I mean Hill is showing promise but do we just draft the best player in order to use it in deals or do we actually try to replace Landry like Morey said?

This was a puff piece. Hill's agent probably has some kind of relationship with Chad Ford. Having said that, Ford is right about some of Hill's strengths: his jump shot at the top of the key, running of the floor, and hook shot are all good tools to build on.

this ^ and also the reason why he fits so well into adelman's system is the same reason why cbud does. i think i remember chase saying in a pre-season interview that they ran a princeton offense at arizona, so he was really comfortable with the "read and react" offense.

Only if DM has a DeLorean with a flux capacitor.

The draft is before summer league starts.

I think his best-case scenario is an Amare-semilight.

BTW Amare is pretty bulked up

Hill is not an Amare-type of player. Not at all.

I might've been premature when I doubted Hill's potential and prowess as a basketball player. He still looks very raw. We'll see how hard he's willing to work in the future in order to improve.

His desire to improve and the hard work he puts in during the off season will be the limiting factors for his future. He isn't super explosive, but with his length and the level of explosion he does have, he could be a very solid power forward. His defense and rebounding are and should be his strongest asset.

I don't really want to get into this cause I know what point you're trying to make, but Kobe made it known before the draft he wanted to go to the Lakers or he'd go to Duke.

Back to Hill, I'd like to see his perimeter game before the season is over. I've seen enough of him in the paint that I know he'll be good in that area if he keeps improving and working hard, but I want to see if he can hit the outside J consistently like Landry did. The scouting report says he can hit the 18-20 footers, it would be great if he can hit those in game situations.

Depends on the type of coaching you get. Its possible Hill was a freakishly big 9th grader and someone convinced him to join the team where all he had to do was use his physical gifts to get by and win games for his team. I actually think a lot of talented 6'2" guards get poorly trained for the next level because all they're asked to do is score to help their team win but they don't get to develop a complete game.

I really like his motor. He goes all out the entire time that he's out there on the court. I personally think he can be a Dale Davis type of player for us, which next to Yao would certainly be a good thing.
