I know it was only the pre season but Jordan Hill 17 points 13 rebounds, 8 offensive boards...I said in my earlier thread that I believe given the opportunity Hill is a potential Double Double guy.
Is this the season that Jordan Hill becomes a beast on the boards & down low?

    I believe so!

btw: (Thabeet didn't do too bad out there either...)

    College rebounding usually translates.

Jordan Hill averaged 12 a game at Arizona.

He is absolutely a PF, but I expect him to rebound like a monster this year...

I hope this is the season the 09 players make their old team that drafted them look stupid for giving up on them too early.

I was impressed by his performance today but a lot of the rebounds kind of just fell into his lap...

He plays sure footed. His balance has improved and he's boxing out like a real man. Wish he would post up and fight to the basket instead if passing the ball back out.

12-9. Hope the "Bad Rookie" makes D'Antoni eat his words.

I believe that he will, if given the minutes, average 13pts 11.5rbds

Jordan Hill is hustling. There were a lot of times in the game where he literally came out of nowhere to rip the ball away from another rebounder or muscle and lunge his way to a loose ball.

    He has heart.

He looked f'ing fantastic, only worried about his tendency to keep fading on those jumpers. He made them but it's just not good practice.

This is funny. Many of the board members were writing off J-Hill as a bust but after one pre-season game every one is claiming him as a double-double monster. Lets not just calm down and see how the season plays out.

I didn't really have any opinion of him.
Dude had an up and down season last year.
Nice to know he's doing well out there.

I don't think he will be as good as he looked tonight but i think he will average about 7pts 10reb 1.3blks if he plays 30mpg.

That's why I really feel bad about Jordan Hill, he's really a forward we're forcing to play C. Mchale is the perfect coach/mentor for him, he'd have been awesome as backup for Scola and eventual starter.

The problem is we're stacked with promising PFs, PP has been injured and recovering all throughout camp but his play last season was much better than what Hill showed on this game. We've also got D. Mo tearing up Euroleague, Morey called him a top 10 big man in Europe (maybe OHMMS can validate).

If Morey expects Hill to perform at this level through the season, no wonder he saw Scola expendable.

You can't really blame them, Hill has always had potential, if his head was screwed on straight. This game showed what he can do if he's motivated and given PT, and he can be pretty awesome, even playing out of position.

Agreed. Jordan Hill will work out at C because intense rebounding is something the Rockets haven't had in their line-up in a long time. He's not going to lock anybody down in the post but he's going to do some damage on the glass and maybe even block a few shots.
