Having bigs, plural, that can switch onto perimeter players, defend PnR handler or roller and especially recover when beat to alter shots at rim is critical in this era of NBA.

That requires elite LENGTH, lateral agility, defensive IQ and last but least, need that dog mindset.

Yep. You can have really good perimeter defense, but if guys get layups at the rim, what good is it. If teams weren't so in love with the 3, there are alleys and lanes for uncontested layups in most possessions. Williams was difference maker vs GSW when he played. GSW wouldn't even cut to the rim.

Honestly, having big guys switch on pnr is gravy train for guards. That strategy to switch just to switch without hedging is basically giving the guard what they want unless you're a guard who can't shoot off the bounce.

Difference being that I've moved on and am looking for more constructive ways to root for this team. God forbid Im to throw a hissy fit every time Paolo outplays Jabari this season while I boxscore watch or even worse talk down on my very own Rocket while pumping up players from other teams all to satisfy a fragile ego.

All in all Im feeling great. Paolo was the best player in the draft and picked accordingly. Im also extremely happy that we wont be stuck with Chet - talk about dodging a bullet!

Funny that ME some nobody from the internet can create a narrative! I cant wait to see this "horrific" defensive player prove alot of you wrong. Just a fair warning in advance my petty trolling will know no bounds if Paolo turns out to be a star and these other guys role players. It will make your tantrums regarding Mobley look like kindergarten nap time. All in good fun of course! ;)

We still have that 20 on "Chet will be a superior post defender than Paolo" going right? Need to stay organized this year - its going to be a doozy! You ready to watch Jalen Green remind everyone why he's a better prospect and player than Mobley again or nah? :D:D:D

    Again?

    LOL

And yes, Chet will be better post player than Paolo. That was a sucker's bet on your part.

Paolo averages less than 1 block a game in college. NBA is going to much much tougher.

And I'm glad you finally admitted you were pushing that fake AF narrative.

I didnt admit anything - thats just the voices in your head!

Im glad I dont have that Sith type mentality though otherwise I'd be dumping on Jabari for having an equal block rate! (I know D I know - "Jabari is an infinitely better perimter defender anyway and Banchero was the worst defender in the history of the sport" -- narratives right! LOL

Didnt y'all just finish saying that "blocks arent an accurate representation of rim protection" ??? Confusing when so many need to pound their chest.

    "Anyone but Banchero" amirite? :D

    "Sith type mentality"?

Oh, you must be talking about Jabari's attitude on defense. :D

Well played by the Knicks. Hart is going to be a good starter for them.

Has to be a S&T right?
Paulo, Wendell, Isaac, Mo Wagner ...
They're going to pay him all that to be the 4th/5th guy in the big rotation getting 10 mins a night..?

Would really suck if Mo & Hart both off the board immediately
They were my top 2 targets for MLE

I'd have offered Hartenstein that and a year more to bring him back.
