Bones by KO. I think Jones length will be the difference in this fight, he's a freak of nature. The only reason he loses IMO, is having less time to prepare from short notice. Bones studies his opponents like crazy, very cerebral fighter. That along with talent on every level and his size makes for one of the most dangerous fighters around.

Rua seems to be back at the top of his game, he's a great, great fighter but his reign will be short lived.

I think Bones will choke him out in the 2nd round.

If he can get the fight to the ground, which he should be able to do with relative ease (Shogun has absolutely terrible takedown defense), he'll smother Shogun and control the pace. Shogun wants to make it a kickboxing match, but Jones is deceptively powerful, evidenced by his vicious power-bomb of Matt Hamill, which broke his shoulder upon impact.

Also, Shogun's proven to be susceptible on the ground. He's been choked out by both Forrest Griffin and Renato Sobral. Jones better not dance around and try to get cute with his "unorthodox" striking, or Shogun will put him to sleep. His chin really hasn't been tested, so he needs to stick to his bread and butter and impose his will on the ground.

I also read that Shogun has had over 20 knee surgeries throughout his career (no joke), so it will be interesting to see if he can hang with arguably the most physically gifted athlete in the UFC.

Shogun has an awesome base and he's pretty great everywhere except for his takedown defense. Jones will most likely get this to the ground some time, but he hasn't been tested against someone who's great off his back and is a BJJ blackbelt. Shogun is like Fedor or Chuck in that they all have an amazing knack to get back to their feet. Jones is a beast physically and athletically but I think people may be overlooking how dynamic Shogun really is when fully healthy. In my opinion, this all comes down to how Shogun can bounce back from yet another surgery. Tough fight to call.

To be fair, the Babablu Sobral fight was his 5th ever, before even Pride. I hate to make excuses for the Griffin fight but everyone knows he came into that fight injured, he had just gotten married right before, his conditioning was just horrendous. They are excuses but worth considering. He's messed with little Nog on the ground, I think he can hold his own with submissions.

War Shogun, but Jones is gonna tower over him saturday night. The guy cuts as good as Silva, he'll probably gain 25 pounds between the weigh-in and the fight.

Yeah, and he is coming off of one of those surgeries which is why it's been so long since he fought. He tore it up in his fight vs. Machida actually.

I read a Rua interview on mmatorch.com, he said his knee is 100%. Rua went on to say, no excuses that he's been training since November.

I'm very excited for this fight, while I picked Bones, Rua can certainly win this fight.

Sidenote: Rua Stopped by ESPN's science lab and his kick registered 2749 pounds of force, the most ever recorded at the lab. Pretty sick.

Just wait till he blasts Bones chicken legs with a couple of those nasty kicks.

I like Bones and knew he was special when I first saw him but I don't think he's ready for Shogun. His victories are impressive but his level of competition is far from it. I think Bones will be champ one day but I can't see him beating Rua (yet). This will be a good learning experience for him though.

Shogun is still in his prime and his resume speaks for itself and he's as savage as they come. WAR SHOGUN!

jones has bought into his own hype, he thinks hes a god already, cocky little
    f___.

He has one significant win in his career, against another unproven fighter in bader.

i hope shogun destroys him pride style.

I think I am leaning Shogun by submission. I do know one thing for sure through, this fight is not going to a decision.
