What is up with so many ex rockets that are analysts never liking the Rockets...do we do something to them after they stop playing?

Mainly so that I won't get TOO overhyped about this streak. Some people say we might win the championship b/c the other teams that went on that streak did. Well, I doubt any of those teams lost one of their key players in the middle of the streak. But I only look at it that way when we try to compare ourselves to those teams and talking about winning it all. Other than that, what the rockets are doing is phenomenal and I'm excited.

are you nuts? we swept the month of february. do I need to repeat myself? we beat the teams that the Lakers and Spurs couldnt beat to keep their streaks going.

now I'm looking at Boston and I see they have an 8 game streak going.

well if has to be done this way, give me the Lakers and the Celtics and we will see where we are at next week...

The apparent lack of credit the Rockets get from a national perspective, to me anyway, kinda fuels the Rockets I think.

Let em hate. While we just keep on rollin.

Let's think about what kind of "team" the Rockets are. A true team plays as one unit regardless of the players that play, simply put.

If you think about it from the start of the streak to now, the players in the rotation have changed dramically. Through the streak, we've gotten rid of Bonzi, Mike James, Snyder, taken Aaron Brooks and somewhat Hayes out of the rotation, had Landry out for one game, and lost Yao Ming to injury. And since then have acquired Bobby Jackson, four other players, placed Mutombo in the rotation, and given extended roles to Scola and Landry.

Even through these changes, the Rockets have still played the same way: focus, effort, energy, attention to defense, and movement on offense. One great quality of this team that is always overlooked is its chemistry. At the core of this team, we have high-character players like Tmac, Alston, Hayes, Scola, Mutombo, etc. who have either played with each other for many years and/or have bought wholly into the team concept. Due to this chemistry, this team is able to play the same way every night even if we lose a few players. It's true that with Yao Ming out, our stlye has changed since we don't have much of an inside game anymore. But every player knows their role in the winning formula and knows each other so well that as a result this team has an unreal confidence and knows what to expect every game.

Every game, Battier provides the lockdown defense, Mutombo and Hayes protects the inside and rebounds, Rafer creates key plays, Landry and Scola make key plays, Luther and Novak stretches the defense with their shooting, Tmac does what he does, and EVERYONE on this team scores, passes, provides energy. and works hard on both ends of the floor. And if someone is having an off-night, other guys easily can compensate for them. That is how this TEAM is on an 18-game winning streak.

Not taking anything away from the Dallas win, because it was great, but it really is time for the heavyweights.

I think we've almost established the Hornets as our b****es, one more win against them should take care of that. Same with the Nuggets.

The Lakers is a huge test and I can't wait. I honestly don't care if we drop the streak before the Lakers game, as long as we win. JUST ONE WIN against a team like the Lakers will prove a lot. I honestly want to beat the Lakers/Boston so bad to prove to myself we're legit.

Well I would rather have the streak alive but my point is I would rather see "Though it isn't 22 straight, Rockets beat top seeded Lakers" than "Rockets streak ended at 21 by the Lakers"

Unless we can have both, in which case, yes please. :D

But the streak will come to an end sometime. I would rather it be against a team we know we can beat than against the Lakers and then have everyone (including us) doubting if we're good enough.

It is a very powerful stat.

I think I'm just concerned because last year we rolled into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams and faced a slumping Jazz team and won the first 2 games.

So much for momentum and all that ya know? But This team does look a lot better.

Especially if williams and harris become contrinutors.
