Hard to argue someone has competitive fire when they can barely manage to stay on the field, let alone in the film room.

This is why Las Vegas needs an NFL team.

This has got to be the only reason that Nike hasn't dropped him yet.

What exactly is a bill obrien QB? Because so far, he's shown to be a poor talent evaluator, especially when it comes to QB.

If I'm McNair, I sign rg3. I don't care if he fits BO'Bs system or not. He has no say in the matter, much like when McNair hired wade Phillips to be the DC .

Typically, it's a QB that has been a back up somewhere else (preferably in NE), so they have had time to hold the clipboard and absorb the game from the sidelines.

    Totally guessing.

    I think he...

...wants bigger/taller guys(not short/small like a Manziel or Bridgewater; although Hoyer & Fitzpatrick are "only" 6'2)

    Brian Hoyer: 6'2 215
    Brandon Weeden: 6'4 228
    T.J. Yates: 6'4 217
    Tom Savage: 6'4 228
    QB/WR hybrid B.J. Daniels 5'11 217
    -------------------------
    Ryan Fitzpatrick: 6'2 223
    Ryan Mallett: 6'6 245
    Case Keenum: 6'1 205

Who did he recruit at Penn State?
    Christian Hackenberg: 6'4 228

    Blake Bortles? 6'5 245

Maybe size isn't important or is overstated so size aside...

...wants a pocket passer/"pro style QB"(why I think it eliminates them for a Kaepernick or Griffin or the likes)

...wants a QB who eats, sleeps, breathes football. (Obviously not Manziel. Although trading for and signing Mallett, maybe not?)

    ...plus that, ha. :)

RG3 is done. He hasn't even played a game since December of 2014. Irrelevant.

Manziel is actually an NFL qb with every physical ability he had when he was drafted.

I'm on the Manziel to LA bandwagon, I'd hate to see him go to Dallas

    Why?

There's no QB's that I know of that have failed this bad off (and on) the field in their debut seasons... and somehow carved out a successful career.

Yet, there are several QB's who have flailed in similar fashion to what Manziel has done... even with good behavior, he is not a viable NFL QB.

This. I think he prioritizes Football IQ above size/tools. A lot of OBs offense depends on the QB making pre-snap reads and adjusting accordingly. The optimal OB QB has to be capable of doing that. I think he brought in Fitzpatrick because he was smart and he brought in Hoyer and Mallett because he knew they knew the system and could run it the way he wanted.

So trait #1 is brains. Size and tools are secondary. And then he wants a pocket passer. That doesn't necessarily exclude someone like Kaep or Griffin, but they have to be able to operate in the pocket. Their running ability is just gravy.

It's funny because people were saying the same thing about Fitzpatrick last year.

Lance Zeirlein had a funny segment on 790 about how Johhny would make a great host on the travel channel visiting party spots around the world.
