The Wizards were HORRIBLE last year - BEFORE Wall played.. when he came back, they were well above .500

2013-14 season goal: make the playoffs to get that max deal, not win a championship.

Doubt it, unless Beal takes a huge step forward, which Wall can't control.

Making it depends on the health of Okafor and Nene

Barring major injuries, they will 100% be in the playoffs. They were good when Wall came back, and young enough to realistically be expected to improve. They are overpaying a lot of guys, but from a pure basketball perspective, a collection of Okafor, Nene, Seraphin, Porter, Ariza, Webster, Beal, Maynor and Wall is more than enough to make the playoffs.

They will probably end up with 6th seed.

I don't see how they don't make the playoffs. Wall, Beal, and Porter is a great trio to build around.

I think Washington and Cleveland (barring a Bynum injury) are locks to make it.

Detroit and Atlanta will fight for the 8thnseed.

All the people responding saying that he won't make it next year clearly did not watch the Wizards after Wall returned last year, and also don't seem to understand how bad the bottom of the East is. Wizards should be a 6 to 8 seed. The Bucks made it last season people, come on.

IMO, John Wall hasn't come close to earning a max contact. At a minimum, he needs to play a full season and play well.

Putting together 2 good months in 3 seasons isn't enough. I have serious doubts about him.

If Wall played the entire season, I think Washington could've pushed the Bucks out of the playoffs. They're closer than people think to a playoff spot

All you have to do in the East is win 38 games. Really not that hard.

I would be more surprised if the Wizards don't make the playoff. Beal played really well before going down with injuries, and Wall was one of the top players after he came back from his injuries.
It's not that hard to make playoff in the East anyway, with a bunch of teams tanking right now.

i hear what you guys are saying...and you guys are right, after Wall came back they weren't bad and the east really is...so how do you see it shaping up then? I got:

    1. Heat
    2. Pacers
    3. Bulls
    4. Nets
    5. Knicks
    6. Hawks
    7. Cavs
    8. Bucks

although 6-10 really is a clusterfreak

anyone wanna do some tipjar bets? I'm a degen gambler

Bucks are nowhere close to sniffing the playoffs. They lucked in to them last year. Now they've gotten way worse and have a dissatisfied PG.

    1. Heat
    2. Pacers
    3. Bulls
    4. Nets
    5. Knicks
    6. Wizards
    7. Pistons
    8. Cavaliers

    Atlanta will barely miss out.

I second everything you wrote. Completely agree. My only quibble is I can see the Pistons, Cavs and Hawks battling for the final two spots but yeah I'm tempted to go Wizards, Pistons and Cavs in the final three.

I think Mr. Wall's desire to be in the playoffs will be met in the upcoming season(Barring injury to any of the major players-Wall, Beal, Webster, Okafor)
