He's facing the same question every star must face eventually.

Do I want to play still but in a lesser role? Or do I have to be the star of a team in order to play?

I think whether guys go out like Iverson, rejecting any kind of smaller role or like Dwight, completely up to them. I respect guys that realize their ego isn't small enough to accept a bench role an guys who are honest enough to realize they aren't as good as they once were too.

With all that said...I'm glad the Rockets so far are not giving in to hsi demands. If he wants to play, it's as a backup guard.

I am not sure he is a star any longer, maybe still borderliner.

He has to step on the court to prove it, the Rox should at least give him one try.

Does not have to be during the winning streak but eventually.

Pretty sure Irving said he's going to retire if the Nets trade him, does that mean we wouldn't be on the hook for his contract? If so that's a great way of getting out of Wall's I guess. Doubt Brooklyn do it.

WOW that would be a good solution for both parties. I think the Nets will wait til next year atleast for Irving though. I just dont see new york all of sudden dropping the vaccine requirement. He's gonna be out for awhile.

If the Nets do something like make it to the finals only to lose to GSW, then benching Kyrie over the jab will haunt them for decades.

Would be comedy gold though, except for Harden who just couldn't catch a break lmao.

They arent benching Kyrie its New York law. I mean I guess he could play away games but still. Man needs to grow up.

i don’t follow how irving’s agent and lawyers can sit back snd let BKN unilaterally ban him from away games when he can legally play and still collect half that salary

Credit given in hindsight, they set Melo free ASAP.

    Truth will set you free.

i'm so down to trade for Kyrie in full intention that he retires. or even negotiate a dirt cheap buyout.

Would be incredible for us to wipe 80+ mil off our books

With KPJ gimpy, having Wall play until AS break may be perfect timing.
