How did guys like Vince Carter and Carmelo prolonged their career with the evolving NBA? .... they got better at shooting 3's.

If Wall does that, he can up his value significantly. Not just here with the Rockets, but with his future teams. He's in his early 30's. Built his game around being a speedy guard, that's one of the first things to go as a player age. Plus he's small for the NBA.

If I was Wall's friend, I'd advise him that when the Rockets is not playing you, hone your 3pt craft, instead of chatting with Stone about being a primary point guard, be a floor spacer who can knock down threes. Evolve into a specialist that most NBA teams covet.

    Ready to play, free me!!!!

Will you come off the bench?
    No

Will you restructure your deal to reduce the number of years left and/or meaningfully reduce salary?
    No

Glad hes played nice so far, and i have no problem with him, and want him to play (show he can, increase trade value), but if hes not willing to do one of the above, the Rockets can do whatever they want imo

He can free himself.... from his contract value and from the worst team in the NBA. He holds cards here. This is not prison, this is called golden handcuffs.

Whether we sit him or buy him out, he's going to cost Tilly a lot of money. If a negotiated buyout can reduce some of that 91 million he's owed, that's a better solution since it allows him to choose the team he goes to, we let go of that albatross and can focus squarely on developing our young core,

I hate Sam Amico since he always just regurgitates other sources. It's amazing how long he's been able to stay around.

If Wall wants to play, then he need's to pay. Team friendly buyout style.

This is great, if we parlay this player movement into a feel good story and he has a Derrick rose like emotional game after we let him play a couple of weeks, we may be able to dump him for nothing.

I think he should wait till 2022, then I don’t mind as much, let the young ones compete with him.

Will you travel to games in this luxury motor home the team purchased just for your benefit?

    No

I’m starting to feel like they are secretly trying to use this as a means to bring Jalen off the bench…

I know the impulse right now is to make Wall out to be the bad guy, but he's really not. It's not his fault, nor is it the organizations fault. The circumstances are what they are. It isn't fair to the Rockets to be stuck with a guy at his price tag unwilling to negotiate and buyout and have no way out or to move him to another team that could use him without having to manage such a high salary. It isn't fair to Wall that he has to sit when healthy and isn't being given a chance to compete for a starting role.

I am fine with Wall back after the deadline if we're able to move off our vets. I'm talking Gordon, Augustin, House, and Theis should all be gone. If Wall takes over Gordon's mins, then I think we're okay. Wall will need to be okay playing off ball and letting Green/KPJ bring it up, or passing it more if he's bringing it up. His game's going to have to adjust, in other words. I don't think that's impossible for him to do, and I think him coming back under a setup where he's more of a 20-30 min/game guy isn't terrible for this team. KPJ and Green can still get 30+ mpg, and it shouldn't deter their development so long as Wall isn't a total ball hog on the court.

Frankly, part of me thinks getting him some run could turnout to be good for us. No one will trade for a guy making over 40M if he's sitting an entire season. Last season was his first year back after 2 years off due to injury. He could be improved this season, and if he shows more development, maybe someone takes a chance on him during the offseason as a guy making 47M for a final season but whose subsequent contracts will be much cheaper?
