Wall plays a lot of pick up ball and practices hard. His problem isn’t effort, he just has poor fundamentals and instincts. His shot isn’t great, he doesn’t have great vision either. He is really solid if he is your 4th best player that defends and gets out in transition... would be great with Clippers.
“Has this losing streak been tough? What is it, 16 in a row?” - Berman “I don’t know anything about that. What losing streak?” Silas
Wall lost his starting role to the kid then shut his season down with an “injury”. All the veterans are “injured” because they are being out played by rookies on nothing deals. Wall’s “injury” is not a surprise at all. —> get paid and save face. An incentive in contracts would go along way.
You have to wonder, is he really that much out of the loop or is he just an amazing actor. But in either case, playing dumb is not a good look.
That’s just nonsense. How can the coach and front office be so disconnected? Harden said the same thing when asked if he has talked to stone. He said no one has contacted him. What is happening in the front office?
At least conspiracy theories have been put to rest. People actually saying Adam Silver will help us. Laughing out loud
Someone tell Rockets management that our odds at the number one pick do not go up if we finish dead last and 4th to last is suffcient.
I mean, he can do one of three things. 1) Throw players under the bus publicly, saying "____ just isn't into it any more and has lost focus." 2) Throw himself under the bus, publicly saying "Yeah, I'm not having a great first season." 3) Give answers like "I dunno what the situation is, regarding _____." The first path is career suicide. The second path leads to people (read: Tilman) doubting your capabilities as a coach, and plants the seed for a dismissal. The third path is the most suitable, since it keeps the status quo. Silas also has the built-in excuse of "no James Harden," "our best players are constantly out" and "rebuilding year."
What’s he going to say? Wall has been replaced by Porter and can’t except his new role as backup. Wall’s play is not what the TEAM needs and or wants so he will not be getting starters minutes. Wall is overpaid for what he brings and now chooses to have medical attention instead of changing his game to fit the TEAM. Translation: I don’t know or really I wasn’t aware better answer for both parties.
Yes trade him for anything expiring! We don't need anything but expiring contracts. No one is allowed a lengthy contract unless they've earned it.
Better be cautious and let Mason Jones captain us to top 3 pick glory. Seriously, we need to trade Wall or play him opposite KPJ next year so better rest him.
So over the All-Star break somehow we went from John Wall insisting on playing in back to backs And now a scope is inevitable?
