R.I.P. Mr. Ritter. In memory of your passing, I'll watch the underrated and underappreciated Buffy episode, "Ted", today.
Is it accurate to say he died of a heart attack? I don't believe that is what it was at all. Yet, those morons over at the Star-Telegram have a headline saying he died of a heart attack. To me, there is a certain stigma associated with someone dying of a heart attack. When I hear heart attack, I think of coronary artery disease and blockage. That is not what he died of so I think it's kind of a slap in the face on the way out. Surf
what a complete shock, i mean, I heard the radio this morning, and I hear John Ritter's name, then I hear about a 71 year old dying, I figured the DJ screwed up the name, and I was like..whew...John Ritter is still alive......but then I cjeck the BBS now, and both Johnny Cash and Ritter died.....this just plain sucks.
I hear ya, JBII . I was getting ready for work this morning and I heard CNN Headline News say something about a John Ritter dying. I was thinking there is no way that is Three's Company John Ritter. It must be some other guy named John Ritter that I never heard of...like some past-his-prime country music star or something. I was shocked and dismayed to confirm later it was indeed John Ritter. He was the same age as my uncle who died from a heart attack unexpectedly playing golf. Ironically, they thought he had some type of food poisoning as well as he just felt sick initially. But, he died as soon as they got him in the car to take him to the hospital from the golf course. He was an ER doctor, too, so it was quite the shocker for everyone...including alot of Floridians he saved in the ER.
RIP It will be interesting to see what ABC does with 8 Simple Rules. Some columnist on TV said they will recast the role of the Dad. I think that would be a mistake since no one will be able to replace John Ritter.
RIP Ritter What's up with the number thing? 3's Company, 8 Simple Rules? Both were hits in their own time (I really thought 8 Simple Rules would be here for a while. It's as if all of America was glad to see him have a successful series again.) Dude, he was younger than my dad.
Three's Company is one of our (wife) favorite shows, we know them all. It just puts you in a good mood. Ritter was funny as hell, one of the best physical comedians ever. There is one episode of 3C where he gets drunk and does some crazy dancing at a party. It is really amazing, very Chaplinesque. Where is Clutch BBS member Joyce DeWitt?
It turns out this can trigger a heart attack. I found an interesting article on CNN about what killed him. Scary. http://www.cnn.com/2003/HEALTH/conditions/09/12/aortic.aneurysm.ap/index.html
These things come in 3's, right? Who's gonna join John and Jonny? Pope John Paul II? Hear he's been "extra-frail" lately... Three Johns... wouldn't that be eery...
Unnecessary post. Seriously in poor taste. I did not find out that John Ritter had passed away until I was stuck in gridlock on the West Loop trying to get home from the office. I always thought he was WAY more talented than the work he had been getting between 3's Company and 8 Rules. Celebrity deaths usually don't affect me...but this is a tremendous loss. RIP +
They just replayed his story on Biography. I didn't know that he was the voice of Clifford the Big Red Dog. I watch some of that show almost every morning with my little girls. Sweet. Seems like a helluva guy. RIP.
RIP. Little to young to for Threes company but 8 simple rules was one of the few current shows that I enjoyed watching. I wonder how far they got in filming for this season? If they got pretty far I wonder if they will show the ones they got? obviously the show is shot w/o him in it. Problem Child was also the movie I saw when I had my first date way back when. Hate to see him go, RIP
